Shambala (born around March 2025) is a very greyhound - like female lurcher who was picked up stray but now her luck has changed and she is looking for a forever home. She was able to survive on the streets as she is quite brave and adventurous so would like a busy home with a garden but also one that understands that she has never had guidance about how to be a pet. Her adopters must be willing to help her become a good canine citizen. She cannot live with cats or small furries. She is speyed and microchipped. If you are willing to help this lively girl reach her true potential and find happiness after her rough start in life, please contact us.

Erin Hounds work very hard to make the best match between homes and hounds but it certainly all came together when they matched stunning Callas (derived from the Greek for beauty) with amazing Zeus ( behind her) Greek king of the ancient gods!

Tote https://erinhounds.co.uk/?page_id=12296 is a lovely young saluki boy with beautiful eyes and distinctive spotty ears. He's never known life as a pet, so needs a home with an understanding owner prepared to give him time to settle in, and he would benefit from another sensible dog to give him some guidance. He will reward you with a lifetime of love and affection, so please consider if you could be the person to turn Tote's life around.
Permanent or foster home required.

Every year dogs die on country walks when ‘ it did not seem that hot’ or when left in a car ‘for five minutes with the windows open’. Leave your dog at home in a cool area with plenty of water to avoid it suffering in the current heat- prevention is much better than cure.

Jack 2014 - 2026

This incredible boy has left a massive hole in our lives, and at the moment its beyond our capability to imagine our lives without him.

Who could have imagined in 2017 when Jack first came into our lives just what an impact he would have! He changed our lives and opened the door to some of life's most wonderful adventures, challenging us to be creative by coming up with new places to discover together, and all the time, Jack continued to delight and surprise us as he opened up to us his incredible personality and high intuitive intelligence. As if that was not enough, His just being with us attracted the attention of so many people who wanted to meet him and find out more. Such was his presence, that we in our local area, shop staff grew to look forward to his visits and you could hear them call out ‘hello Jack, I've got some treats here for you' and of course, Jack would receive them with glee. Needless to say, new friendships have grown over the years, all as a result of dear Jack's incredible, gentle and compelling presence. Our home will never be the same. But dearest Jack, thank you for giving us more than we could have ever anticipated.

Thank you to all the team at Erin Hounds who continue to do such incredible work in seeing that these beautiful greyhounds find homes and families where they can flourish and enjoy life.

People often commented to us just how lucky Jack was to have found a fine home, and I would without hesitation explain that it was we who were the lucky ones and had been blessed by such an incredible boy.

On National Rescue Dog Day, here's a message from Feeney's fosterer. What an amazing ambassador for rescue dogs!

Ten good reasons to adopt Feeney and a little more information as we have got to know him.

1. If you want to make friends (or more friends), adopt Feeney, he loves people.

2. If you want a companion for your dog – adopt Feeney, he loves dogs

3. If you live in a quiet rural area – Feeney is ideal

4. If you would like a dog that walks happily along beside you – except if he sees people, he has to have a stroke then and may want to cross over – Feeney is perfect.

5. If your dog likes a quiet life, so does Feeney

6. If your dog likes a game, so does Feeney, another Greyhound would be ideal, as they have the same doggy rules. He is not fussy though.

7. Feeney is not a fussy eater, loves everything suitable for a Greyhound.

8. He is stunningly handsome – Feeney thinks so too, he often looks in the long mirror.

9. Feeney is the typical quiet gentleman, he is polite, always there, wants to be by your side, happy to be left alone for a while.

10. Feeney doesn’t bark, only when asleep and playing.

11. He loves his crate, his sanctuary.

Feeney is an absolute joy, he smiles and wags his tail when you wake up, loves being groomed, can be mischievous, but this is part of his learning – no one is 100% perfect!

He is not overly fond of the car, will jump in but gets stressed. Better when someone sits with him in the back.

We walk him along country lanes, which we have found suit him.

Feeney is fostered with a Labrador, has had a Vizsla come to stay and recently a Springer Spaniel. No problems at all.

Please give this gorgeous boy a chance, he will capture your heart and everyone around him. Guaranteed.
