Tomorrow and Thursday look like they will be extremely hot. It's worth dramatically decreasing your dog's exercise for these days, and making sure their beds are moved out of conservatories etc to somewhere cooler.
Remember, no dog died as a result of missing a walk but dogs die of heatstroke every year.

We made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Happy (was Rasta) on Friday, at home in his comfy bed. We adopted him from Erin back in July 2019 and have adored him ever since. He truly was the best dog, and we knew right from the start how lucky we were to have him join our family. Happy’s health took a turn back in 2024 and we have been very carefully managing both age and old-trauma related conditions ever since with an incredible team of professionals; Patrick and his lovely team at Northwich Vets, April at Stay Sound Vet Physio, and specialists at Eden Vets in Crewe. We all worked really hard to keep him as comfortable and happy for as long as we could but in the end, we knew it was the right time to say goodbye, as hard as it was. It was so peaceful. I can’t thank Erin Hounds enough for letting us adopt Happy - we will miss him so, so much 🧡

Another heatwave on the way, and please remember to take extra care of your hounds. Access to shade and fresh water available at all times. Walk them early in the morning and late evening, and if you're going out for the day, leave them at home. If you spot possible signs of heatstroke, cool them immediately and seek veterinary advice.
Enjoy the weather, but make sure your hounds do too!

Cashel (born November 2025) is a female lurcher thought to have saluki, collie and terrier in her heritage. She is good natured and playful but will need a confident dog or dogs to guide her. She requires an owner happy to give her the time to grow, learn and play ( she especially likes splashing in puddles!).

With the usual careful introductions, she could live with cats.

She would like a garden in which to safely play and being young would like a home with someone around a lot who is happy with puppyish traits.

She is microchipped and that she will be spayed at the appropriate age, is a non- negotiable condition of adoption which will be overseen.

Cruz https://erinhounds.co.uk/?page_id=12431 has come out of his shell a lot and discovered his playful side! He can still be hesitant at first but soon comes round. He loves a zoomie, especially with a pal. Please contact us if interested.

We’re heartbroken. Our gorgeous boy, George (Vertagus George) crossed the rainbow bridge on the 23rd of May aged 12 and 1 month following a devastating accident in the garden in the early hours of that morning, We were devastated to have to say goodbye.
Thanks to Erin Hounds, George came into our lives aged 3.
Gorgeous George was the biggest, goofiest boy that we had the pleasure of having in our lives. We have wonderful memories of our time with George and will never forget him.
