We've been out delivering staff training with local Residential Services, running pop-ups at secondary schools and colleges, delivering lessons in Macclesfield Schools and more!

We have also had the privilege of working with .ways.warrington to deliver a session with Warrington

⚠️ Drug Alert ⚠️

We have been made aware of Cannabis that is suspected to be laced with Spice.

If you use drugs, to help keep yourself and your friends as safe as possible:

🧑‍🤝‍🧑Try not to use drugs alone – have friends around to keep an eye on you and look out for signs of an overdose.

💉Carry naloxone – naloxone can temporarily reverse the side effects of an opioid overdose, including non-opiate drugs that are contaminated.

⏰Start low go slow – contaminated drugs may look the same as drugs you usually take. Start off with a smaller dose and wait to see the effects before taking more.

💊Use one drug at a time – mixing drugs or taking 2 or more drugs together within a short time significantly increases the risks of an overdose - this includes alcohol.

“Our volunteers make my heart smile!” says Nina, a Volunteer Manager in our Manchester RISE service.
Volunteers are the most rewarding part of my role; they’re so passionate and it’s really important to me to make them feel valued within the team. I try to speak to every volunteer each week to find out what they’re up to, and congratulate them on showing up and having the persistence to keep learning.

I’ve volunteered before so I know what it’s like to attend training and go into an office for the first time. I understand the fear and anxiety that this can create, and that gives me the ability to help them manage it themselves. I also know how volunteering can transform your life and give you an opportunity that you wouldn't otherwise have.

Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, and from all walks of life. Some want to work in the sector; others haven’t worked in 20 years and want to gain confidence. We have people volunteering after retirement to continue to support their communities; others want to give back to a service that has supported them. Their transformation into confident, capable contributors is a testament to the whole team.”
