💚 WE LOVE A SUCCESS STORY 💚

Here at St. Annes Football Club, we're incredibly proud of our players, not just for what they achieve on the football pitch, but for the amazing things they do away from it too.

One of our U16 Yellows players, Tao, has teamed up with his good mate from school to set up their very own business, with a fantastic goal in mind.

They're putting the profits towards funding a trip to Nepal, where they hope to support and teach Nepalese children, making a positive difference to the lives of others. 🌍❤️

Their brilliant initiative has even caught the attention of the local press, with the Lancashire Post and the Local Blackpool Gazette visiting yesterday to hear their story and shine a spotlight on what they're doing 📰

Tao, what an absolutely fantastic thing to be involved in. It takes ambition, determination and a huge amount of kindness to turn an idea into something that can genuinely help others.

We're incredibly proud of you both and can't wait to follow your journey 👏

Please take a moment to visit their page, give them a follow and show them some support. Every bit of encouragement helps.

Well done, Tao... You're a credit to yourself, your family and St Annes FC 💚⚽

What a lovely day today has turned out to be!!!

We hope all those that attended last night's Halloween Party enjoyed it as much as we did. We will be doing a separate post to share the videos and photos with you all but a huge thank you to everyone that came and danced, shouted and partied like they have never done before. Now back to today......

💚Under 9 Herons - St Annes Herons played a strong BJFF Sonics team this morning at home, and despite a slow start (possibly from too much Halloween partying last night 👻) ended the game really well.
Draya and Isla both defended really strongly, whilst Harlie and Orla made some great passes and moved the ball up the pitch well. Charlotte showed some great skills and Millie worked hard to track back and pressure the defence. Ariana and Talya both looked fantastic in attack, getting a goal each ⚽⚽
Parents player of the match went to Sofia who was absolutely unstoppable when driving forward and scored a well deserved goal ⚽
Coaches player of the match went to Minnie, playing in her debut for the Herons and looking right at home with a strong defensive display.
💜Under 10 Ravens - Good game today

Marla made some excellent saves in the game
They pushed 4 players as strikers which made it abit tougher in the last 10 mins.

The girls put in a great team effort and were respectful as always..
Parents player went Arabella for her defensive works and having a go in goals.
Coaches Player went Marley and Marla

Marla for running her socks off creating some good chances and pulling of some incredible saves towards the end of the game.
Well done Ravens💪🏻💪🏻
💚Under 11 Eagles - The Eagles travelled away today to take on Euxton, taking everything from training into the match. It was a competitive showing and the girls played strongly. An end to end match with both teams showing strong, plenty of opportunities and shots from both sides. Plenty to take away from the match and continue to develop during training.
LA - Player of the Match, keeping her head up and looking around for her team mates and making some great plays to move the ball around.

⚽️💚💜 St Anne’s Greens U13s 9–0 Fleetwood Town Purples 💜💚⚽️

Back in action after the half-term break, the Greens enjoyed excellent footballing conditions for their friendly against Fleetwood Purples.

The Greens started on the front foot, playing some fantastic passing football. An early cross/shot from OJ opened the scoring before Cal doubled the lead from right back. Louie then added two well-taken goals to make it 4–0 at half-time.

Despite plenty of positional changes, the Greens continued to dominate in the second half, playing some excellent team football. Louie and OJ both added two more goals each before NR rounded off the scoring with his first goal of the season!

A fantastic all-round team performance as the Greens prepare for life in the Championship!

🏆 Parents’ PoM: NR – an excellent performance capped off with a goal!

🏆 Coaches’ PoM: Haz – a composed and assured midfield display.

Well played, Greens! 💚💜⚽️

🧤 Kian was brilliant in net! Sharp off his line, pulling off some huge saves and even putting in some important challenges when needed. What a shift! 🧱
🛡️ Emmett and Josh were absolute rocks at the back, strong in the tackle, winning possession and playing some lovely passes.
⚽ Joe, Cruz and Joey had a tough job in midfield today but worked their socks off, linking up brilliantly and putting in a huge shift!
🔥 Louie and Sofìa led the line brilliantly, pressing from the front, linking up with the midfield and never giving the opposition a moment’s peace!
🏆 POM – Joey
🏆 Parents’ POM – Josh (2 weeks running! STARBOY! ⭐)

🐍Under 9 Cobras - U9 Cobras - An end to end battle as ever for the Cobras today. A great first half included a couple of well taken goals by Lochlan, Seamus added another before Jack scored from an impossible angle. Ronnie shored things up in the middle with some good tackles while Reuben was excellent again at the back. Benji made a handful of great saves in the first half and worked hard in the second. A tricky second half saw us hit the post three times before Lochlan was rewarded with another goal. On to next week!
Coaches Player - Jack
Parents Player - Lochlan
Players Player - Benji
💛U11 Yellows - We welcomed Layton Junior Blues to BRN today for an incredible end to the phase! 🙌
We may have been low on numbers, but we had an abundance of effort and energy – and that's all we ever ask for! 💪
A brilliant end-to-end game where the team kept the pressure on and played together. All that passing in training is really paying off! 👏
🏆 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛

Saturdays competitive round ups....

💚Under 12 Greens - The u12s were in action this morning at home to Layton Clarets.
They put in an absolute brilliant performance however they didnt get the result their performance deserved.
The Greens fell behind early in the game but after that dominated the first half. The Greens hit the post and had the Layton keeper pull off a number of saves. Phoebe, however, was called upon a few times in goal and produced a few great saves. How it remained 1-0 at half time I'll never know.
The second half started as the first half ended but this time the Greens got goals. Haniel bagging himself a brace to put the Greens 2-1 up. However not long after this the Greens had to bring a player off due to injury and without any subs had to play a player down. Unfortunately during this period Layton grabbed a few goals. Elijah did manage to grab another one for the Greens but it wasnt to be. They all did really well.
Parents Player went to Phoebe who was magnificent in goal.
Managers player went to Elijah who was fantastic all over.
💚Under 13 Greens - ⚽️ St Anne’s Greens 2–2 Clifton Hornets ⚽️
(Clifton win 3–0 on penalties)
With Phase 1 coming to an end, the two sides met in a winner-takes-all play-off to decide the phase champions.
In perfect football conditions, both teams battled it out in a thrilling, seesaw encounter. Louie gave the Greens the lead before Clifton hit back with two goals to lead at half-time.
The Greens came out looking more like themselves in the second half, with Louie grabbing his second to level the scores. Both teams pushed for a winner, but nothing could separate them.
The game went to the lottery of penalties, where Clifton unfortunately came out on top.
Despite missing out on the title, the boys should be incredibly proud of a fantastic Phase 1 campaign, finishing unbeaten with a remarkable +24 goal difference! 💪
Now onto the next challenge — the Championship!
Well done, Greens! 💚💜⚽️

⚠️ WELFARE OFFICER’S STATEMENT – BLACKPOOL ROAD NORTH ⚠️

As Welfare Officer of St Annes FC, it is my recommendation that no football is played at Blackpool Road North today.

I have just attended the ground alongside Max Robinson and Matt King, and we have walked the full length of the playing field to assess the conditions.

The ground itself is playable and is a real credit to the hard work, commitment and dedication Graham has put into getting it to such a good standard. That effort deserves recognition and appreciation.

However, the overriding concern today is safety.

Wind gusts are exceeding 60mph, with dangerous conditions forecast to continue throughout the day. In my humble judgement as Welfare Officer, the safeguarding risk posed to players, coaches, match officials and spectators is simply too high to justify playing football.

Max Robinson, speaking from his position as a senior match official, shares this assessment and agrees with the recommendation.

Football will always be important to us, but the safety and welfare of everyone involved must come first. No match is worth putting people at unnecessary risk.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Enjoy a day at home, in the warmth and safety. Stay safe, everyone.

Russ Quine
Club Welfare Officer

What a start to the holidays with this terrible weather. You definitely know the school holidays have started when the wind and rain appears. Although some games were unable to take place, we still managed to see a couple of teams out displaying their fantastic talents. Let's see what they had to offer........

💜Under 8 Magpies - WHAT A GAME! 🔥⚽️ Today we faced FCS Xavis in an absolute goal fest from the very first whistle! Plenty of action, great football and fantastic effort from the whole team!
Kian was class in net today! Sharp off his line, pulling off some huge saves and keeping his kicking on point!
Louis and Emmett were absolute rocks at the back, getting stuck into challenges, winning the ball and playing some lovely passes.
Joe, Josh, Cruz and Joey played some brilliant football between them, working hard and making things happen across the pitch!
Louie and Sofìa worked their socks off up front, linking up brilliantly with the midfield and setting the tone for the rest of the team!
POTM – Joe
Parents’ POTM – Josh
GOALSCORERS: Josh, Joe, Emmett & Joey.
Super proud of every single one of them today!
UP THE MAGS! 💚💜
🐍Under 9 Cobras - Early start down at BRN this morning for the Cobras against Vipers. The team were superb first half showing all the things we’ve been working on. Lots of passing and moving, simple passes from the keeper and build up play.
Theo was back and on form laying the ball across goal for Seamus to slot home. He was then fouled in the box and smashed the ball in from the resultant penalty. Reubs was absolutely brilliant at the back, snuffing out lots of attacks and Daniel made some smart saves. Lochlan was busy and put a great ball across goal for Benji to apply the finish, bottom corner. Lochlan then grabbed a couple of goals that his performance deserved after some great passes from Emi.
We were unlucky not to have score more, but Vipers keeper was having a great game. Second half we kept up the hard work, Ronnie was unlucky not to get a couple and Dan came outfield and was busy all round the pitch. A really good performance that’s been coming, now need to keep up these levels
Coaches player - Lochlan
Parents player - Reubs
Players player - Dan

⏰ Fergie Time is back 😂⚽

Just a reminder to all grassroots football parents and coaches... the clocks go BACK one hour this Sunday, 25th October, at 2am.

That means an extra hour in bed… unless you’ve got an early kick-off and the kids are already awake 🤣
