Ansdell in Bloom In both 2017 and 2018 Ansdell in Bloom achieved a prestigious Gold Award in the NW Britain in Bloom Awards.

Established in 2006 by a small group of dedicated volunteers, Ansdell in Bloom creates beautiful displays and hosts community events to bring people together and help maintain our environment. Ansdell in Bloom has been in existence for over 14 years and consists of a small number of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year to keep their village looking beautiful. We need more v

olunteers from the community to make Ansdell an even better place to live and continue to maintain & improve community spirit.

It's been a while but now a project is complete...
An old speedboat has been gradually transformed into creating a pleasant corner.
With thanks to Lytham Community Workshop for supplying the bench it has been fitted and decorated with a couple of planters by AiB.
This once drab corner is now a much nicer place to be.

This Lady is the wonderful Helen Aston who owns the nursery.
Today she was out taking pride in her business clearing the weeds and sweeping up outside her premises.
A wonderful example of community spirit and pride in your area.

Lovely afternoon out and it was a pleasure to be invited to the meeting and ceremony as last year's mayor handed over to this year's.
It was a personal extra joy as like many of us I have known Richard Redcliffe for more years than either of us would care to own up to.
He has always been passionate about Ansdell and Fairhaven and I could not think of a more worthy man to be our mayor for this coming year.
It was also great to bump into Ben Aitken who founded Ansdell in Bloom in 2006.

Another busy morning for Ansdell in Bloom and Community Workshop Lytham
Today the speedboat got joined by a new navigation aid ...a lighthouse lovingly designed and made by our friends at Community Workshop Lytham .
This is another part of the big jigsaw that will see this corner of Ansdell made a brighter more fun place to be.
We can't wait to see this planted up later this summer.
The final picture shows the teams holding the other topper that we are saving for judging day
