New Forest For Ukraine

REMEMBER, REMEMBER THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER, AND SPARE A THOUGHT FOR UKRAINE

Tonight across Britain, we'll enjoy fireworks lighting up the night sky, with families gathering around bonfires sharing the love.

But in Ukraine, those flashes and explosions aren't fireworks. They're missiles and drones. And as we enjoy the warmth of our bonfires alongside friends and family, displaced Ukrainian mothers and their children face another freezing night, often huddled alone without electricity or heating.

What we celebrate here, they fear for every night.

At New Forest for Ukraine, we're working hard to deliver hope. Generators, food, medications, hygiene products, kids clothing, and other essential aid before Christmas. We're raising £28,000 to send eight lorry loads of aid to those who desperately need it.

This Bonfire Night, could you turn a little of your celebration into hope for Ukraine? Every pound matters.

WHAT UKRAINE NEEDS MOST RIGHT NOW – AN IMPORTANT ADVICE - November 2026

THANK YOU to everyone who continues to donate vital humanitarian aid to New Forest for Ukraine.
Our priorities are guided by the needs identified by our trusted Ukrainian NGO partners, helping us to deliver the right aid to where it’s needed.

ITEMS WE CAN NO LONGER ACCEPT
We are currently unable to accept clothing or bedding.
Although we appreciate the generosity behind these donations, our available space and transport capacity must be prioritised for the items our Ukrainian partners have specifically requested.

OUR CURRENT PRIORITY DONATIONS
We are currently asking for donations of the following items:
Food: Tinned and dried food
Power and lighting: Generators, charging devices, torches and batteries
Medical aid: Medical supplies and medications
Hygiene: Personal hygiene and sanitary products
Other essentials: Household Goods, Pet food and treatments, Sleeping bags and knitted / crocheted / hand quilted blankets of all sizes. Underwear for children and adults

WHY YOUR DONATIONS MATTER
Every pallet we send to Ukraine represents valuable space on a truck. By donating items that are currently needed, you help us make the best use of our resources and ensure our deliveries provide practical support to the communities who need them

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT

Romsey Supports Ukraine Group will be running a Trench Candle Workshop this Sunday 1st November 2026.

For those unfamiliar with trench candles, they are based on a World War I concept and remain a vital aid in Ukraine today. Not only do they provide light and heat, but can be used to boil a kettle or heat a tin of soup

Activity: Making trench candles using clean food tins, corrugated cardboard, and melted wax to provide heat, light, and a way to warm food for soldiers on the frontline.

Venue: Woodley Scout Hall, Braishfield Road, Romsey SO51 0PB.
Items Needed: Clean, empty food tins and leftover candle stubs or wax donations (scented candles are not accepted).

If you would like to come along and join the workshop it will be held at Woodley Scout Hall, Braishfield Road, Romsey, SO51 0PB - For more information, contact Roland Matthews at 07505 507825 or email [email protected].
