💚 WHAT A DAY FOR GIVING! 💚
Some days just remind you why you do what you do… and today was one of those days. 🥹❤️

Three amazing duos, three fantastic car loads, and an incredible amount of kindness — all arriving within moments of each other!

All long-standing supporters of NFFU, they turned up with vital aid and enough generosity to make our hearts burst. ❤️

And then came this afternoon… 🥰

The wonderful ladies of Thorney Hill & Bransgore W.I. welcomed us with a table absolutely overflowing with food, hygiene products, soup, soap and beautiful hand-knitted items lovingly made and donated to NFFU. 🧶🥫🧼❤️

What makes this even more special is knowing that behind every tin, every bar of soap and every knitted item is someone who cared enough to give.

BROCKIVAL - BROCKENHURST VILLAGE CARNIVAL

Brockival is the revival of the historic Brockenhurst village carnival, taking place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, 2026. It features a colourful procession through the village starting at 12:00 PM, followed by a 'Gala in the Garden' at St Saviours Church from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with live music, stalls, and entertainment.

The day’s schedule of events includes:
12:00 PM: Carnival procession begins winding through Brockenhurst.
1:30 PM: Official opening announcement at the Gala.
1:45 PM – 8:00 PM: Live acoustic sets, dance performances, and bands, with award announcements for best floats and dress at 5:15 PM.

A 2-year-old killed as Russia's near-continuous attacks stretch into third day across Ukraine
August 29, 2026 10:40 am reports the Kyiv Independents Liliane Bivings.

The huge dark smoke plume billowing follows a drone strike in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Near-continuous air raid alerts across large swaths of Ukraine stretched into a third consecutive day on Aug. 29, as Russia launched continued waves of attacks targeting the country.

A Russian attack on a warehouse facility storing ammunition in Kyiv Oblast's Bucha district on Aug. 28 killed at least 37 people and injured 42 others, including four children, after the strike triggered a fire and a series of explosions.

Another Russian attack on Kyiv Oblast killed a 14-year-old girl in the Boryspil district, regional governor Tymur Tkachenko said.

The two-year-old girl was killed in a Russian attack on Kyiv's Obolonskyi district in the morning, while eight other people were injured, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. Three people were hospitalized, the mayor added.

These strikes are ongoing and unrelenting, killing, maiming and displacing more and more families.

We need to be equally unrelenting in getting aid to those affected. Please help us to help them.

Great day sharing the message last Sunday with Romsey Supports Ukraine. ❤️💛💙

A huge thank you to the Romsey Ukrainian Support Group for their wonderful welcome and hospitality at last Sunday's celebration marking 35 years of Ukraine's Independence.

The Mayor, Cllr Colin Burgess, was delighted to be invited to such a meaningful event, bringing together members of the local community to celebrate Ukrainian culture, resilience, and heritage. It was a fantastic opportunity to show solidarity, build connections, and recognise the important contributions of the Ukrainian community in Romsey.
