At Home-Start Craigavon we are delighted to have received funding through the Queen's University Belfast CiviContribution Fund to support dads and their babies in the local Craigavon area.

A special thank you👏to Dr Eileen Mitchell from Queen’s University Belfast for submitting the funding proposal to the CiviContribution Fund and helping make this exciting 🤗project possible.

Through this work we hope to
* address gaps in support for dads during the early years,
* create opportunities for fathers to build confidence, strengthen bonds with their babies and connect with other dads, 👨
* feel more included in early years services
* access local community based activities and green spaces 🌳

Activities will include Dads IAIM Baby Massage, Dads Mellow Parenting programmes & visiting local community groups & parks.

We believe that supporting dads is an important part of supporting the whole family, helping babies get the best possible start in life.

We look forward to developing this work together, to evaluating & distributing the findings and to continue making a positive difference for dads, babies and families in our community. 💙

That’s the day ☀️ for getting the babies and 👧🏼 children outside!!

The Princess of Wales has released a video announcing research into nature’s 🌲 benefits, marking the new initiative from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

She has asked the centre to explore how nature can support social and emotional development in young 👶🏻 children.

"We believe that taking a whole-child approach is important, and nature 🌱 becomes a wonderful place to explore how we can successfully nurture the social and emotional skills that underpin lifelong health and wellbeing.

“My hope is that through this practical, nature-based research, we can build supportive environments that help make nature 🪵 more accessible, benefiting babies, young children and their families across the UK.”

Great morning 🤗 last week catching up with colleagues from the community and voluntary sector at South Lakes Leisure Centre.
Hosted by Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council to celebrate 10 years of their Financial Assistance programme and the positive impact the council funding has had on programmes in the local area.

It is with a heavy heart ♥️ we say goodbye 👋 to our friend and colleague Joyce from Home-Start Ards, Comber & Peninsula Area after almost 30 years of fun, friendship & support. 🤗
Thank you for all the time, energy & kindness you gave to not only your Home-Start scheme but to all of us as colleagues.

Great to see the Dads & Babies 👶🏻 from the IAIM Baby Massage Class in Lurgan Park on Saturday morning for a catch up.
The babies have grown almost as much as our Home-Start Craigavon tree 🌳 😁!!

Community Health and Wellbeing Event on Wednesday 21st October 2026, from 6.00pm to 8.00pm at South Lake Leisure Centre.

The event will bring together a range of organisations offering health and wellbeing support, along with advice on alcohol, drugs and mental health.

We are delighted to welcome two guest speakers - Rory Sloan from Resolute Minds will share his personal journey through mental health challenges and addiction and how these experiences led him to where he is today. Representatives from Just A Chat will discuss their work in promoting mental health awareness and encouraging people to seek support when facing challenges.
