We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. We provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are in times of crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. We provide food parcels to people who live in, near and around the Epping Forest Distri
ct who have been referred to us by frontline care professionals, heard through word of mouth, seen our previous support to others as well as self refer themselves to us in times of crisis and need. Forming in 2013, Epping Forest Foodbank was formed and still run to this day. Since then, meals have been distributed to local people in crisis via three foodbank distribution centres with increasing numbers yearly. We now are partnered with over 100 local and national frontline care professionals refer to us, alongside over 120 volunteers engaging in weekly-monthly activities and projects for the foodbank, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.
