A UK Charity Organisation combatting food poverty in and around the Epping Forest District. A part of

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. We provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are in times of crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. We provide food parcels to people who live in, near and around the Epping Forest District who have been referred to us by frontline care professionals, heard through word of mouth, seen our previous support to others as well as self refer themselves to us in times of crisis and need. Forming in 2013, Epping Forest Foodbank was formed and still run to this day. Since then, meals have been distributed to local people in crisis via three foodbank distribution centres with increasing numbers yearly. We now are partnered with over 100 local and national frontline care professionals refer to us, alongside over 120 volunteers engaging in weekly-monthly activities and projects for the foodbank, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. *We're recruiting new Trustees*

Our food bank provides emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while campaigning for a UK without the need for food banks. Without our volunteers, selflessly donating their time, we simply would not be able to support the thousands of people in crisis.

As a Trustee you will play a vital role to our food bank ensuring that we are meeting the demand for our services, providing help and support to people in crisis in the local community. As well as providing strategic direction for the charity.

We have trustee meetings quarterly with additional duties as they arise.

🌟 Welcome to the team, Lois! 🌟

We’re delighted to introduce Lois, our new Church and Community Engagement Officer, who has recently joined the Epping Forest Foodbank team.

Lois is passionate about social justice, community and tackling food insecurity, and she is looking forward to working with our wonderful volunteers, local churches, schools and businesses to build stronger connections across Epping Forest.

👩‍🏫 Schools and young people will be a particular focus of Lois’s work. She’ll be continuing to deliver assemblies and workshops that help children and young people understand food insecurity, develop compassion and think about how they can make a difference in their own communities.

⛪ Lois will also be working closely with local churches, supporting collections and educational sessions, as well as looking at new ways for churches, schools and businesses to partner with the Foodbank.

Our community is at the heart of everything we do. We rely on the incredible generosity of local people, organisations and businesses to provide food, financial donations and practical support — we simply couldn’t do what we do without you. ❤️

🎄 And Lois has already been thrown into her first big project!

She’ll be leading the design of our Christmas tree for the Epping St John’s Church Christmas Tree Festival, with our big decorating day taking place on Tuesday 1st December.

Whether your fairy-light skills are on point or your bauble-hanging talents just need a chance to shine, we’d love your help! ✨

Change in opening hours!

This Wednesday 16th September ONLY, our warehouse will be open for donations from 1pm to 3pm, instead of the usual 10am to 12nn. We apologize for any inconvenience caused, but are still grateful for every donation received!

After 4 years with us, our fabulous Church and Community engagement officer has moved onto pastures new.

Amy has been a fantastic member of our team and has made a huge contribution to our work. From inspiring school assemblies and building relationships with local churches to representing the Foodbank on BBC One's Crafty Christmas, she has helped raise awareness of our mission across the community.

As Amy moves on to her next mission in life, we would like to thank her for everything she has done for Epping Forest Foodbank. We wish her every success in the future.
