Charnwood Arts connects the local community through workshops and events, whilst celebrating local talent, inspiring people and making the arts accessible to everyone. ✨ We are an independent community arts and media organisation based in the Borough of Charnwood in the East Midlands of Britain and funded by the Arts Council and Charnwood Borough Council. Charnwood Arts embraces community and provides access to relevant and meaningful art providing opportunities to enable people of all ages with an interest, a range of skills and abilities to access the arts across all art forms, and at all levels in a variety of roles.

Meet Dolly, our visiting therapy dog! She brings calm, comfort, and joy to our wellbeing workshops and community gatherings, making creativity feel safe and welcoming for everyone! We love her! (especially CEO Shirley Novak)

💍 A little sparkle at Charnwood Arts this week! ✨

Our Hammered Ring and Silver Clay workshops brought people together to explore jewellery making, try new techniques and create something unique. 💜

Time to get creative, enjoy a chat and discover what you can make with your own two hands!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to our wonderful artist, Charlotte, for sharing her skills and guiding the sessions. 🙌

Our Heron Music café hosts regular live music sessions at John Storer to enhance well-being. Aimed at those a bit lonely, isolated, have dementia, are a carer for someone, or even if you just fancy a coffee, chat and a sing, then everyone is welcome. With so many people attending we now need some volunteers to help with the general running of the session, is that YOU!

🌟 A milestone morning for Charnwood Arts as we welcomed Arts Council England’s CEO in our 50th anniversary year!

Today we couldn’t have been happier to welcome Darren Henley, CEO of Arts Council England, and Jess Tickell, Arts Council Programme Manager, to Charnwood Arts and our ‘Ringing Through Time’ installation at Taylors Bellfoundry Museum. 🔔

Their visit gave us the opportunity to share the breadth of our work, reflect on what we’ve achieved and talk about the people, partnerships and ideas that make it possible.

From supporting wellbeing and bringing people together through creative activities to helping communities explore and celebrate their heritage, we’re proud of the difference our work makes across Loughborough and beyond.
As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, it was particularly meaningful to discuss our ambitions for the future and how we can continue making the arts welcoming and accessible to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Thank you, Darren and Jess, for spending time with us, exploring our work and being part of the conversation about what comes next! ✨
