Our next meeting for the Loughborough East Community Association is coming up on Tuesday 9th September, 7–8.30pm at Fearon Hall (Pitt Room). Everyone’s welcome, whether you’ve been super involved or just curious.

Please come along ready to share an aspect of community activity that you have been up to, and an example of something you would like to collaborate on with others. We have a low bar for what counts as community activity, it can be as simple as arranging to meet up with a couple of people, or as big as starting a new project.

Some people are interested in setting up a canals and towpaths group, we have people supporting art projects, litter picking, the climate crisis, and a social entrepreneur interested in community wealth building. What would you like to do?

What Have You Been Up To? Let’s Catch Up.

Our next meeting for the Loughborough East Community Association is coming up on Tuesday 9th September, 7–8.30pm at Fearon Hall (Pitt Room). Everyone’s welcome, whether you’ve been super involved or just curious.

At the meeting, we’ll share what we’ve been up to since May, but don’t worry, this doesn’t have to be anything formal. Spending time with friends, checking in on neighbours, helping someone out, or organising something small with others all count as community activity. If you’ve said hello to someone new, hosted a get-together, joined a class, or just been part of something that helped others feel connected then you have helped build community.

To give you an idea, here’s a link to what counts as community benefit: 🔗 https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/charitable-purposes/charitable-purposes One that often surprises people is that recreation and social time that improves quality of life is a recognised charitable activity. A community can be as small as 3–5 people who know each other by name and choose to connect around shared interests or mutual support. If you don’t yet know five neighbours by name, this could be a good week to change that just by saying hello or small acts of kindness.

If you have any thoughts, questions, or ideas about local community-building, feel free to get in touch.
