🎨 Workshops at our Celebration Day 🎨

Tomorrow is your last chance to join one of our free family workshops before we pause for the summer. As part of Celebration Day, we’ll be hosting two creative activities in our Gallery Space. Alongside the workshops, we’ll be inviting visitors to share their thoughts on creativity in Loughborough and imagine what a creative future for the town might look like.

🖍 Banner Making (Family Workshop)
10am–12pm
Join us for a free morning workshop aimed at families. Together, we’ll make bold banners exploring ideas around creativity, community and the future of Loughborough.

🖨 Screen Printing (Drop-In Workshop)
1pm–3pm
Drop into the Gallery Space in the afternoon for a free screen-printing activity. We’ll be exploring patterns, shapes and typography to create fun prints to take home.

This photo was taken just before the launch party for our new venue last September. It captures just some of the artists, studioholders, volunteers and members who have helped shape MPND over the last year. Since then, we’ve hosted exhibitions, workshops, events, artist socials, family activities, studio projects, film screenings and more. We’ve welcomed thousands of visitors through the doors and begun the next chapter of MPND at Aumberry Gap.

Our Celebration Day is an opportunity to mark that first year together, while also looking ahead. Throughout the day, we’ll be inviting visitors to think about what makes a creative town, what stories we tell about the place we live, and what we need to support a creative future in Loughborough.

Join us this Saturday for a day of workshops, exhibitions, food and conversation. Whether you’ve been part of the journey so far or are visiting for the first time, we’d love to see you there. Come and celebrate with us!

☀️ Summer Fair ☀️

Join us on 3rd and 4th July for a weekend of independent makers, artists, designers and small businesses taking over the building. We’ll have ceramics, prints, bakery treats, craft, zines, books, jewellery, cards, coffee and more, alongside a chance to meet the people behind the work and discover something new. We’ve had a brilliant response from stallholders and can’t wait to share the full line-up soon.

We’ll kick things off with a launch evening on Friday 3 July, before reopening on Saturday for a full day of browsing, conversation and summer shopping.

🌹 A final look at The Sick Rose by Jamie Seymour.

Thank you to everyone who visited the exhibition over the last few months. Jamie transformed our Project Space with paintings, drawings and sculptures that brought together roses, swans and watchful eyes into a world that felt strange, tender and deeply personal.

This Saturday, we’re opening the building once again for Celebration Day — with exhibitions, workshops, food and creative activities taking place across the site from 10am–3pm. We’ll be sharing more details throughout the week.🌹 A final look at The Sick Rose by Jamie Seymour.

🎉 Celebration Day returns next weekend.

As we prepare for Celebration Day 2026, we’re looking back at our last Celebration Day in 2024. We explored traditions of gathering, gratitude and collective making. Taking inspiration from well dressing — a practice where communities decorate local wells with flowers and images — we invited people to think about what they valued in Loughborough and what kind of future they wanted to help create.

Across the day, families, young people and artists came together to make miniature murals, share stories and transform conversations into artworks. We screened a short film, held a mini-parade, and created a temporary exhibition from ideas, wishes, photographs, drawings and slogans gathered through workshops and community events. This year’s Celebration Day continues that spirit, bringing together workshops, exhibitions, food and creative activities across the building.
