Thank you to the kind young man who came by with drinks for the volunteers tonight, it is much appreciated.

The community spirit we’ve experienced since starting this project really has been incredible and so heartwarming.

I love these photos of Christine surrounded by a sea of vibrant colour and “in the company of” Johnnie Johnson!

Thank you so much to the young gentleman who gave a donation towards the gardening project tonight. We will use it to purchase some autumn flowering plants to extend the season of interest.

Last night we were visited by a lovely Dad and his little children who helped with the watering and deadheading and when they were leaving they presented the three volunteers with beautiful bracelets. Thank you for your kindness and company!

Today has been very busy, and tiring, day but our trusty team rose to the challenge yet again.

Many thanks to The Great Central Railway Loughborough for their generous donation of gravel to tidy up the borders beneath the hedges in the triangular garden. They look so much better now and this top dressing will put paid to any invasive w**ds.

Thanks to Nathan for bringing the gravel to the site in his trailer and to all those who helped to wheelbarrow it to the borders and to those who helped lay the w**d suppressing membrane and then spread the gravel over it.

We plan to run a sturdy timber edging to stop the gravel migrating onto (what used to be!) the grass but that’s a job for another day. In an ideal world we’d have had that done ahead of time but things happened very fast this week and we had to strike while the iron was hot!
