Cairngorm to Coast is an annual 100km hike and bike challenge event held to raise funds for outdoor learning and adventure youth charity, Outfit Moray, who provide life changing outdoor learning and adventure opportunities for young people in Moray. Cairngorm to Coast is a 100km hike and bike challenge that takes place against the backdrop of the magnificent Cairngorm National Park and along the b
eautiful scenery of the Dava Way. Cairngorm to Coast is Outfit Moray's main fundraising event of the year and helps support our work providing life changing outdoor learning and adventure activities for young people in Moray. The annual challenge takes place on a Saturday before the last Monday in August, and begins at Cairngorm Ski Centre car park when entrants hike or bike down towards the Sugar Bowl, through Glenmore Forest to Glenmore Lodge, on towards Nethy Forest and Lyngarry towards Nethy Bridge, where they join the Speyside Way to Grantown-on-Spey. There, the 'hike only' participants will hang up their muddy boots, whilst the 100km participants will get on their bikes and head up the Dava Way to Forres and then follow the NCR 1 and quiet back roads to finish in Lossiemouth, a mere 70km later. Do not be fooled, this is a gruelling challenge and requires plenty of training and preparation. The local climate is extremely changeable and you could be starting the hike in the snow! Outfit Moray and Bike Revolution provide all the logistical information and support, as well as first aid & mechanical support on the day. Participants will receive an Outfit Moray goody bag and the option to purchase an event t-shirt, as well as a finisher's medal on completion. A tree will be added to Outfit Moray Trees for Life Grove for every participant on the day.
