Outfit Moray

Outfit Moray Outfit Moray is an outdoor learning and adventure, youth charity based in Lossiemouth, Moray

Since 2003, Outfit Moray has been changing lives of young people in Moray through our comprehensive programme of outdoor learning and adventure activities, with over 15,000 attendances each year across our Outdoor Learning and Bike Revolution teams. Using outdoor adventure to teach new skills and encourage positive risk taking, our Outdoor Learning team actively develop the potential of young peop

le in Moray by improving confidence and self-esteem and building resilience, which helps shape their future lives. We use the local breath-taking environment as our classroom and playground to deliver a range of activities including rock climbing, archery, canoeing, abseiling, mountain biking, rafting, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, weaselling, Tyrolean, crate climbing, bushcraft and hill walking, as well as adaptive cycling sessions, bike skill days and led rides through our Bike Revolution (Delivery) team. During term time, the majority of Outfit Moray’s work is with Moray’s schools and our activities can be completely tailored to support the different developmental and behavioural needs of the pupils. We also work closely with our local partners such as social services, youth services and other local youth groups, through our EnerG strand, which supports vulnerable and disadvantaged young people and includes 1-to1 sessions, multi-session programmes and two residential breaks each year. We also deliver Bikeability across Moray schools, which includes ASN cycling sessions. As well as our work with local schools and support services, Outfit Moray also deliver a busy school holiday programme plus birthday parties, family adventures for all ages, bike maintenance classes, team building and corporate days, first aid courses and first aid event cover. During term time, we work closely with Moray schools to support their pupils with single, multi day or multi activity programmes. These activities help build self-confidence, grow self-esteem, encourage life skills, increase happiness and improve health and well-being, helping the pupils cope with any challenges they may face.

Huge thanks to Rotary Elgin for another fantastic Motorfun in Cooper Park.

It was a busy day with lots of visitors keen to try out our various bikes, or have a ride in the cargo bike, plus loads of delicious and refreshing 'pedal-made' smoothies were created and enjoyed.

Our coconut shy was also out for the first time in a few years, which was fun to watch.

Being busy is great, but it does mean we don't get time to take many photos, so please feel free to share yours in the comments as we'd love to see them.

We're looking forward to doing it all again at Moray Council's Bike Fest on 28 June, 12pm to 3pm. See you there!

Sandy's off on his 4 Nation Challenge again and this time he'll be cycling the perimeter of Wales, which is 808 miles with 47,725 ft of elevation.

Please wish him well and, if you are able, send him some sponsorship to cheer him on and keep him motivated over the four days.

The Forres Academy, Moray 'Friday Group' were testing their nerve and enjoying some positive risk taking with some big coasteering jumps at Portknockie last week.

As with all our work with schools, we subsidised the cost of this activity with our own fundraising, and we need your help to make sure they keep happening.

Don't worry, not all fundraising is about donating! You can take part in an event, recycle old clothes, shop on Etsy or Amazon, or simply share our Facebook posts to help spread the word, it would all be very much appreciated.

Another great training day, this time we were delivering flood water safety training to COTAG 4x4 Response at Hopeman Harbour.

As well as our wide range of WorkSafe Training Systems first aid courses, we can also deliver bespoke/adapted courses to meet our client's requirements.

Remember, the income from all our first aid training sessions is reinvested to support our work by helping cover our unavoidable running costs, such as vehicle insurance which is over Β£4,300 a year. So you can enjoy top quality training, whilst helping change lives!

Our instructor, Dan Vaccaro, created this fantastic showing our Forres Academy Friday over eight sessions.

Each week, they travelled across land and water, to cover the equivalent distance of Kingston back to Forres Academy.

With sessions including coasteering, mountain biking, kayaking and shore walking, not only did they clock up the miles, but they also worked brilliantly as a team, gaining confidence and new skills every week.

Well done everyone πŸ‘πŸ‘
