MEET THE MEDIA LUTON 2026

It’s been over a week since our first MTM event of the year in Luton, but we’re still reflecting on the discussions.

From the local insights shared by our panellists to all the heartfelt questions and responses from our audience — the space was as much a chance to engage and network as it was to learn.

We are already looking forward to returning to Luton for some follow-up sessions.

And in the meantime, if you would like to help us keep holding the media to account, you can support our work through the link below:

In the final nights of Ramadan, many are choosing where to give their Zakat.

Harmful narratives, including inaccurate reporting and negative framing of Muslims, don’t correct themselves.

They must be challenged.

Supporting this work helps address harm at its source and contributes to fairer, more accurate media over time.

‼️ Nearly 50% of UK media coverage about Muslims shows bias.

Across over 40,000 articles analysed, negative framing remains widespread.

These findings come from CfMM’s latest report: The State of British Media 2025: Reporting on Muslims and Islam.

These patterns don’t correct themselves: they require consistent monitoring, evidence, and action.

CfMM works to hold media outlets accountable, challenge inaccuracies, and has already secured 100+ corrections from major publications.

We are often asked how Zakat can support this work.
Our approach is grounded in transparency, accountability, and ethical impact.

This Ramadan, your Zakat helps address harm at its source and supports fairer, more accurate media.

Ramadan teaches us the value of sincerity and consistency.

Much of our work takes place quietly — monitoring, analysing and verifying media coverage day after day. It may not always be visible, but this steady commitment is what enables meaningful and credible change.

Long-term impact requires long-term dedication.

🤲 This Ramadan, your support sustains the work happening behind the scenes and helps us continue holding media to account.

We’ve been holding the British media to account since 2018 — challenging how Muslims and Islam are reported and exposing harmful framing.

But our work goes further.

We’re training the next generation of journalists at leading universities across the UK — showing them the patterns we uncover through daily monitoring and helping them avoid the mistakes that shape biased coverage.

This work has real impact. It shapes how future generations are understood and represented.

🤲 As part of our Ramadan campaign, please support us so we can continue this vital work:
