For Refugee Week 2026, we join communities across the UK in celebrating this year’s theme: Courage.
At SEEAC, we see courage every day in people rebuilding their lives, navigating new systems, speaking up against injustice, and creating spaces of belonging for others.
We believe everyone deserves to feel welcomed, valued, and supported. Through our Community Hub, wellbeing activities, workshops, and advocacy work, we are committed to building a community where ESEA migrants, refugees, and people seeking asylum can connect, thrive, and feel a sense of belonging.
At a time when many in our communities continue to face racism, discrimination, and uncertainty, we stand together in care, courage, and solidarity.

πŸŽ‰ Happy 17th Anniversary to the INDUK Community! πŸŽ‰

Last Sunday was a joyful celebration filled with togetherness, laughter, shared stories, and of course, delicious food lovingly prepared by the community. πŸ’›

SEEAC is grateful to have celebrated this special milestone alongside the Indonesian UK (INDUK) community and to witness the warmth, care, and strong community spirit that continues to bring people together year after year.

Moments like these remind us of the importance of creating spaces where migrant communities can connect, celebrate culture, and build a sense of belonging in the UK.

Thank you for welcoming us into your celebration, and congratulations again on 17 wonderful years of community, resilience, and solidarity. 🌸✨

πŸ’š This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re highlighting the importance of culturally informed and community-centred mental health support for East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) communities across the UK.

For many migrants, mental health is shaped by isolation, racism, insecure work, financial stress, family separation, and uncertainty linked to immigration status. Yet stigma and barriers to accessing support still prevent many from reaching out for help.

At SEEAC, we believe no one should have to go through these experiences alone.

Through our free counselling services, group therapy sessions, yoga and wellbeing workshops, and community gatherings, we are creating safe spaces where people can heal, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.

✨ In 2025:
β€’ We supported 47 people experiencing mental health challenges, including providing counselling support where appropriate.
β€’ 30 community members joined group therapy sessions
β€’ More than 1,000 ESEA community members participated in our Community Hub wellbeing activities

These are more than just programmes β€” they are spaces for care, connection, and community healing.

🌱 ✊ This Labour Day, we celebrate rights, resilience, and collective strength.

Across the UK, migrant workers, including ESEA communities, continue to show incredible resilience in the face of ongoing challenges.

The New Employment Rights Act 2025 brings important steps toward fairer workplaces, from day-one sick pay and parental leave to stronger protections against unfair dismissal and insecure work.

πŸ’‘ But rights only matter if people know them and feel safe enough to use them.

Many migrant workers still face barriers such as language gaps, fear linked to immigration status, and limited access to support. That’s why community-led organisations like SEEAC play a vital role in providing trusted advice, advocacy, and safe spaces.

At SEEAC, we see every day how access to the right information and community support can empower people to navigate work with greater confidence and dignity.
