WSUP We are a grassroots charity that provides support to those seeking help in our community. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity whatever their situation.

Woolwich Service Users Project (WSUP) is a grassroots charity that provides practical and emotional support to those seeking help in our community. We support people who are going through, or are at risk of, poverty, homelessness, addiction and any other life challenges. We offer essential services including a warm, safe drop-in centre where people in need can access hot meals, showers, haircuts,

a laundry service and a clothing bank. We are a non-judgmental environment and our doors are open to everyone in our community who needs us. We partner with external organisations to provide advice and support sessions for our guests (service users). These services include help with healthcare, housing, employment, skills training, addiction, debt and legal issues. We also run a range of wellbeing activities, including yoga and meditation, to enhance our guests' health and quality of life. We want our guests to feel part of a community that values and cares for them, and supports them to create a better future. Our drop-in sessions are:
Monday 10am to 3pm
Tuesday 10am to 2pm
Saturday 10am to 2pm

In addition to our drop-in sessions we also have the following wellbeing activities that are free to WSUP guests and volunteers, and open to others for a donation of £5 per session:

Breathwork every first and second Tuesday of the month, 2.30pm to 3.30pm
Yoga every third Tuesday of the month, 2.30pm to 3.30pm
Sonic meditation every fourth Tuesday of the month, 2.30pm to 3.30pm

We’re really pleased that WSUP has been chosen as one of the Mayor of Royal Greenwich’s charities, alongside South London Special League.

South London Special League does brilliant work with young people with learning disabilities through football and tennis and we’re proud to be sharing this moment with them.

The Mayor has been part of WSUP’s story from the early days, and has stayed connected with us as the work has grown. That kind of steady support means a lot to a small local charity.

At WSUP, everything starts with relationships. A warm welcome, a familiar face, a meal, a conversation, a shower, clean clothes, or simply somewhere to be  - these small moments matter.

Over the years, local businesses, partners, volunteers and friends have helped us build a strong support network around people experiencing homelessness, poverty, loneliness and crisis across Woolwich and Greenwich.

Last year, that network helped us support over 700 people.

It was lovely to be at the launch event and to see so many Friends of WSUP there. Thank you to Panas By Sujan Katuwal MBE for providing the food and helping make the event feel so warm and welcoming.

Thank you to the Mayor for standing alongside WSUP and the people who use our service. We’re looking forward to the year ahead.

🌸🌿 Our little garden is flourishing! 🌿🌸

From vibrant flowers to homegrown strawberries and cucumbers, WSUP’s yard is bursting with colour, life and a few tasty surprises. 🍓🥒

Just like a garden, communities thrive when they’re cared for. Every flower that blooms and every fruit that grows is a reminder that, with the right support, people can grow too.

Thank you to the volunteers and guests that help them flourish!

Your support helps us continue creating spaces like this while providing vital services to people experiencing homelessness, poverty, addiction and isolation.

Together, we’re not just growing a garden… we’re growing hope. 💙

💙 From sleeping rough to a place to call home.

Just a few weeks ago, this gentleman walked through our doors needing support. Our Health Coordinator, Kate, worked alongside him, helping him access the services he needed and ensuring he never had to face things alone.

This is what he had to say about his experience at WSUP:

“I walked through the door and got a smile from everybody. Everybody asked if I needed help. Fast and furious service. WSUP deals with people that have drug, mental, drink and loneliness problems. You help everyone. Best service in Britain that I have been to, and I’ve been to many.”

Today, we’re delighted to say he has been successfully housed, thanks to the fantastic partnership working with the Royal Borough of Greenwich Rough Sleeping Team, who coordinated with the local authority where he had a connection.

This is why we do what we do. A warm welcome, compassionate support, and strong partnership working can change lives.

A huge well done to everyone involved. 💙

🚨 THE MET OFFICE HAVE RAISED THE ALERT TO RED 🚨

🔥 HOT WEATHER CAN BE DEADLY🔥

* Extreme heat is dangerous for people experiencing homelessness.

* Lack of shade, water, and safe places to rest increases the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke. Being on hot pavements or brick walls can make this one of the most dangerous times of the year.

* People that take medication for their health are at a higher risk too. Medications such as Antidepressants, Antipsychotics, Diuretics, Beta-blockers, to name a few.

* Alcohol and drugs can have a big impact too.

💙 WSUP is open as a Cool Space

* Cool down, rest, and access drinking water.
* Everyone is welcome.

📍 Other Cool Spaces in The Area

* Woolwich Library
* Greenwich Library
* Eltham Library
* Greenwich Homeless Project Eltham
* 999 Club Deptford
* Plumstead Library

💙 You can help

* 💧 Give bottled water
* 🧴 Give sun cream
* 🧢 Give sun hats and lightweight clothing
* 📲 Report rough sleeping via StreetLink
