As we close this final chapter of our story, on our last day as a charity, we’re taking a moment to reflect on more than four decades of extraordinary impact, through these archival images.

From our radical grassroots as the Greenwich Le***an and Gay Centre in 1984 to METRO Charity today, we’ve spent over 42 years standing proudly alongside people navigating life, identity, and wellbeing through our inclusive, life-changing services.

For many, METRO has been a lifeline: a place where someone listens without judgment, where support is both practical and heartfelt, and where difference is celebrated. It has been a space where activists have taken to the streets, where real change has been driven through campaigning and advocacy, and where people have discovered themselves, found community, and built lifelong friendships.

This history and this impact can never be erased.

Finally, thank you for being part of our story. Your unwavering support has enabled us to deliver vital work to those who need it most for over forty years.

Remember: you are not alone, and support is there if you need it. Be bold. Be yourself. Embrace difference.

Rights. Justice. Action. For all women and girls!

All women and girls deserve:
- The right to learn
- To express themselves freely
- To access information
- To be safe in digital and public spaces
- To participate fully in cultural, scientific and civic life

Each of us can play a part in challenging inequalities and addressing discrimination and violence against women and girls.

Your Health is Wealth!

Men from African and/or Caribbean heritage are twice as likely to develop prostate cancer during their lifetime, compared with the overall male population.

This new impactful film from SASH features the voices and experiences of seven men and women with African, Caribbean and mixed heritages (including our Tony and Amy!), exploring how awareness and confidence to seek healthcare services can be improved.
