MAUK MAUK, the first and leading Malayalee community organisation in the UK. Its history can be traced back to V K Krishna Menon’s Kerala Samajam of the 1930s.

The Malayalee Association of the United Kingdom (MAUK) is the first and leading Malayalee community organisation in the UK. In 1974, a handful of members of Kerala Samajam, who settled in the UK along with the newly migrated Malayalees from India and Singapore, registered ‘Malayalee Association of the UK’ as a friendly society. In 1987, MAUK Trust was formed and was registered under the charities

commissions act as a charitable society. The same year MAUK also bought its own freehold property: 671 Romford Road, Manor Park, London E12 5AD, which is now known as ‘Kerala House, London’ ...the home of British Malayalees. In 2004, both MAUK and MAUK Trust were merged and re-registered as a charitable company for better administration.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shri Kokkaraveetil Gangadharan Nair, affectionately known as KG Uncle. May his soul rest in peace.

K G Nair was a director and secretary of MAUK and the husband of the late Girija Nair, a volunteer and founder of the MAUK 60+ Sisters Club.

We will keep you informed about the funeral arrangements and a memorial gathering planned at Kerala House.

MAUK Community Wheels
https://portal.mauk.org/product/vanraffle/

Dear Friends,

MAUK Director Board has reviewed our activities and identified improvements for our growing community. Our Elders Centre fosters social connection and wellbeing, while our classes and cultural programmes increase participation, bringing logistical challenges, especially transportation.

Many elders and children depend on family or volunteers for transport. Volunteers often use their own vehicles, which isn’t sustainable.

The Board launched the MAUK Community Wheels Project to fund a 17-seater minibus to support activities.

What will the minibus be used for?
Transportation of housebound elderly service users to MAUK Elders activities and MAUK shows.

Day trips and outings for Elders Services users

Transportation of MAUK LADA students to performances. Currently we have over 120 students.

Transportation of equipment for the MAUK shows.

Transportation of visiting artists.

Private hire for members for personal use.

We are holding a raffle with prizes: £1,000, £500, £250, and ten £50 restaurant vouchers. Sponsors include Shan Properties, Adam Short Stay, DeNova Solicitors, and Chai Kadai Restaurants.

Tickets cost just £5. Please support us by purchasing as many tickets as you can using the link below and by spreading the word. Your help strengthens MAUK.

Together, we can move forward with your support.
