We’re looking for a Community Hub Activities Coordinator to help deliver our programme for Newham residents aged 55+, bringing people together through guided walks, social activities and our Community Connection Café.

🎶 Turns out, all you need is a bit of music, some good food and a community garden to bring people together!

On the 31st of July, more than 80 people joined us for Summer Sounds: Live at Oasis - an evening filled with live music, tabla, open mic performances, and delicious food. 🎤🪇

The evening was particularly special for our Young Carers Project, which supports young people across Newham who help care for someone at home. Alongside practical and emotional support, the project is about giving young carers space to be young people. To make friends, try new things, have fun and discover what they’re capable of. 💛

Summer Sounds was a little snapshot of exactly that: young people taking the mic, sharing their talents and cheering each other on!

And what better day to celebrate them than International Youth Day? 🌍✨

A BIG thank you to Flotsam Sessions , Newham Music and our brilliant Renewal Programme staff for making the evening happen - and, of course, to our young people for bringing the energy! 🕺🎶

We offer a range of courses aimed at those looking to develop their English and digital skills in a local community setting. All courses are free, and you do not need to live in Newham to apply.

Our courses include:

⭐ English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
(Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1, Level 2)

⭐Digital Skills
(Beginners, Entry 3, and Level 1)

📅 Enrolment takes place on the 24th and 25th of August from 9:30-14:30

On Monday 13th July, we welcomed nearly 300 learners to celebrate the incredible achievements of our students at our annual Learner Celebration Day. 🎓✨

The event recognised the hard work and dedication of learners who successfully completed our ESOL and Digital IT Skills courses, with certificates awarded to mark this important milestone. Every certificate represents determination, growth, and the confidence to take the next step towards new opportunities. 💚

We were also delighted to be joined by our wonderful guest speakers, whose inspiring words made the celebration even more special. A huge thank you our wonderful teachers, and the Renewal Programme Training department including Indu and Louise!

Congratulations to every one of our learners - we’re incredibly proud of all that you’ve achieved, and we can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next. 🎉

We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of learners in September, so keep an eye on our page for enrolment updates! 👀

The best ideas come from the people with lived and practical experience. By listening to our volunteers and involving them in decision-making, we’re building training that reflects what our community really needs.
