To celebrate the wonderful new avenue of mulberry trees in , we’re hosting a free afternoon of music from Jazzlive at The Crypt!

Join friends and neighbours to enjoy music from Winston Skerritt (bass) and Belinda Braggins (keys) who will be joined by guitarist Maurice Brown for two sets of original music. Expect jazz, folk and world influences, relaxed grooves and strong melodies.

It was lovely to be joined by so many eager participants for our Medicinal Trees Walk in Myatts Fields Park last week. Led by Greg Packman, Tree Curator of the Royal Parks, we enjoyed a circular tour of the park, learning about medicinal uses, history, folklore and other fascinating facts about a range of tree species including the Yew, London Plane, Turkish Hazel, Silver Birch, Ginko, Walnut, Sweet Gum and Mulberry. It was a privilege to hear Greg's knowledge about the trees we sometimes take for granted.

Congratulations to all newly elected councillors representing SE5 wards across Southwark and Lambeth!

Our SE5 Hustings provided an opportunity for residents to put forth their questions and concerns to the potential candidates. These centred around the following topics:
🏘 Safety and anti-social behaviour
🚌 Transport
👶 Young people
🏠 Housing
🌿 Green spaces
🗳 Democracy
❤️ Adult social care

Now that we have our elected councillors, we will be sharing the full breakdown of the priorities and concerns, which we implore them to focus on within their roles. We look forward to working with all newly elected SE5 councillors over the coming four years, and to holding you to the commitments you made on the night.

We're already getting ready for the 2nd Camberwell Talk in our Summer Series...

In June we'll be joined by the amazing creative team behind the karaoke institution that is ORGANOKE💥

If you haven't hear of Organoke, make sure you get to know! It's Karaoke...but not as you know it. The mighty church organ at St Giles gets turned up to 11 for a joyous night of en-masse singing of your favourite classic “choons” alongside a full live band, and your host gets you on your feet singing like you’re Britney on tour! Join the team as they celebrate 10 years of musical mayhem, described as 'The most brilliantly bonkers night out'.

Eat Around the World returns to Camberwell Green on Saturday 16th May, bringing together over 7,000 people for a global feast of food, music and community celebration. ☀🍴🎶🧡

From the spices of Asia to the soulful kitchens of Africa, the flavours of Latin America and the Middle East, this is more than a food festival — it’s a day where Camberwell comes together.

And we need you to help make it happen.

We’re looking for volunteers for short, flexible shifts (2–4 hours between 8.30am and 8pm). Whether you have an hour or a morning, there’s a role for you:

🗨Friendly and welcoming? Join the information point team
👀A good observer? Help us count visitors and track our impact
🌳Care about the environment? Litter pick the Green (equipment provided)
🚦Safety-aware? Support traffic marshals
✋Practical and hands-on? Help set up stalls and create a welcoming space
🧡Love food and people? Serve our free community lunch (12–2pm)

You’ll meet neighbours, support over 80 independent traders, and help create a day full of energy, generosity and pride in place.

This is Camberwell at its best: supporting local, tasting global, and celebrating community.

Our Sumer Series of Camberwell Talks is here! ☀

Few musicians can claim to have made such a mark on the British music scene in the last thirty years as Laetitia Sadier. As a member of Stereolab, she’s released ten full albums, gaining along the way a large dedicated fanbase and acclaim that rightfully singles out Stereolab as "one of the most influential alternative bands of the '90s”.
