Thanks to everyone who came and chilled at our Mulberry Moments event in the heat of Saturday afternoon β˜€

Within the wider context of Climate Change, Camberwell has been doing its bit, and celebrating the good stuff. We heard from Head Gardener of Burgess, Ciaran Hawkins, and from Peter Coles (UK Mulberry expert) about how mulberry trees are a smart bet for a climate resilient future.

Friends of Burgess Park were fantastic hosts, and the Chumleigh Gardens proved an excellent concert venue. Thank you to our talented musicians Belinda Braggins, Winston Skerritt and Maurice Brown for the afternoon's music. Amazing lemonade treats and mulberry jam for our scones as a teatime treat were courtesy of TFC, the Turkish Food Centre in Camberwell. Sally Willcocks fabric bows were used to dress the trees at the start of the new avenue - so nobody could possibly miss the newly planted trees. And thanks are due to the Camberwell Society and Nunhead Gardener whose financial support made the mulberry celebration possible.

⭐ Join us for free at our next event, the Camberwell Butterfly safari - Saturday 4th of July. Book your place now on Eventbrite so you don’t miss out! ⭐
