2021/2022

The group formed in March 2021 with some key goals and background rules.

A private group where Only tilers or people
Working within the tiling community can join

The aim is to improve the relationship and engagement between tiler to tiler and tiler to manufacturer/brand and retailer.

Secure marketing budgets from brands to use on training for tilers and increase their brand strength and revenue in exchange

To take out you must put in, a rule still so strong today.

2021 the group quietly grows quickly, members enjoy the technical support available, the banter and assistance and the special exclusive offers from Pro Tiler Tools who have linked up to become of the official recognised retailer in exchange for exclusive group prices, competitions and prizes.

2022 Several guides and tool reviews are authored including a fully detailed 5 part underfloor heating guide in conjunction with Amber Underfloor Heating.

We receive the first BIHUI Tools UK floor grinder in the country to test and review - a tool that’s gone on to become a top seller and a 2nd generation model is soon to enter the market in 2026.

Tilers community has a meeting with UltraTile Dural UK Limited and Amber ufh and officially partner up with enhanced technical support and training being important factors.

We also have a meeting with The Tile Association and join the committee to offer our support in improving the standards and guidelines for tiling.

We officially schedule in the first ever training day with UltraTile for early 2023 on external tiling.

We finish the year up with trademarks full registered and hitting 4000 members within the group.

The group has begun to gain traction very quickly in the second half of 2022 and many companies seeing UltraTile, pro tiler tools, dural and Amber want to have a meeting about joining.

It’s always good to reflect on where we came from and a trip down memory lane.

5 and a half years ago the group was formed with nothing but one person with some ideas, lots of mutual connections who supported that idea and joined along for the journey.

What a journey it has been so far.

This week each day we will visit a part of the history of tilers community.

We recently had an exclusive training day hosted by Palace Chemicals at the skills hub in Liverpool.

We were also joined by BIHUI Tools UKGenesis Global Systems LimitedProgress Profiles spa

The subject covered matting systems, movement joints and led lighting.

Course attendees began the day with theory and knowledge based training, including interactive tasks.

The practical side put the knowledge to the test and were faced with several different problems, the solutions were in the corner of the room and all materials needed were available.

-Resin stitching,

-Bracing a floor to strengthen it before overboarding,

-Levelling an existing screed to meet a new screed,

-Matting systems,

-Then installation of movement joints if required.

🌟100% success rate pass on the practical🌟

A really beneficial day for everyone involved that included engaging interactive theory and practical, product knowledge and solutions and also a favourite on the day, getting to look at some tools!

The day was finished with lots of freebies given out by both Palace and Genesis/Bihui.

Reflecting on the mitre resin training day in the view of admin and group organiser Haydan Kivell

First of all I’d like to thank all you members for attending, without you coming these days wouldn’t be possible. Secondly I’d like to say thank you to Nicholls & Clarke Group for putting this day on and for the great hospitality, keeping everyone fed and watered through the day.

Also a thank you to RUBI UK & Ireland for attending show casing some of there cutters, disc grinders and supporting the day. Finally onto Broad Landscapes and the Elita Labs team. thank you for allowing everyone to use your products and your help through the day. Ben’s a true craftsman at what he does, so sharing his skills and knowledge to help everyone is something we’re so lucky to be able to utilise and share with members.
