🕯LUCIA IS RETURNING TO BRIGHTON!

For the second year in a row, Svenska kyrkan i London & The LondonSwedes Choir is bringing one of Sweden’s most beautiful Christmas traditions to Brighton.

On Sunday 29 November, we’re once again joining forces with The Swedish Church in London for a magical Sankta Lucia celebration at the spectacular St Bartholomew’s Church.

Expect a beautiful candlelit Lucia procession, traditional Swedish songs and harmonies, and an afternoon filled with light, warmth and Christmas spirit.

Jill Johnson is one of Sweden’s most beloved artists and, after more than 30 years in the spotlight, is still at the peak of her creativity. Known as the “Queen of Country,” she has played a major role in putting
country music and Nashville on the Swedish map through her music, acclaimed tours and the award-winning SVT series Jill’s Veranda, Nashville.

From winning Melodifestivalen with “Kärleken är” in 1998 to countless hits throughout her incredible career, we’re beyond excited to welcome Jill Johnson to the LondonSwedes Lucia stage! ✨🇸🇪❤️

✨ LONDONSWEDES LUCIA 2026 ✨

We can finally share the news… ❤️

One of our most precious traditions returns this December.

On 13 December, The LondonSwedes Choir will once again fill the beautiful Royal College of Music with candlelight, music and the magic of Swedish Lucia. 🕯️🇸🇪

With our 70-person strong choir, we’ll bring you an evening of traditional Lucia songs, Christmas favourites and that very special feeling of Swedish Christmas in London.

And just like previous years, we’ll also be welcoming a very special Swedish guest artist to perform alongside the choir… 👀✨ More on that very soon.

We knew putting a Swedish kräftskiva in the hands of Punk Royale was going to be something special🔥

Incredible food, endless drinks, snaps, singing, and all the crayfish party traditions - just very much the Punk Royale way.

Some of our regular guests even told us it was the best kräftskiva we’ve ever done 😜, and we have to give a huge amount of that credit to the absolutely brilliant Punk Royale team. 🫶

Thank you for looking after us, entertaining us and creating such an unforgettable afternoon.

And of course, THANK YOU to our amazing LondonSwedes community for continuing to show up, sing loudly, wear ridiculous hats and make these events what they are. 🇸🇪❤️

Den 14 september drar vi igång våra måndagsrepetitioner och börjar uppladdningen inför årets stora höjdpunkt - vår Luciakonsert i december. 🌟🎄

Under året väntar även flera spännande framträdanden, bland annat Svenska Handelskammarens jullunch, en Lucia konsert i Brighton, samarbeten och resor. ✨

Election Debate in London Sunday 23/8 2026🇸🇪

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Swedish Church in London, and to all eight parties and politicians who took part.

It was a full house and an afternoon filled with important discussions ahead of the 2026 Swedish general election.

The event began with SWEA London sharing important information about how to vote from the UK. Voting in the UK is available from today, 24 August, until 9 September.

• Christian Democrats – Alice Teodorescu Måwe, Member of the European Parliament

• Centre Party – Rasmus Elfström, Förbundsordförande Centerstudenter
• Green Party – Jacob Risberg, Member of Parliament

The debate began with a moment of silence for the victims of the incident at Brinellskolan in Fagersta, before moving on to some of the key issues affecting Swedes abroad, including voting rights and citizenship, public services, security and crime, migration and integration, as well as climate and energy.
