The Players of St. Peter

The Players of St. Peter Medieval Mystery Plays performed in the heart of London.

For more than sixty years, the Players of St Peter have been performing English medieval drama in London, and are, we believe, unique in offering annual productions from the main English mystery cycles. Around the beginning of December each year, we perform a selection of short plays by turns from the four most complete cycles (York, Chester, Wakefield and "N-Towne" – also known as "The Plaie call

ed Corpus Christi"). These plays tell Bible stories ranging from creation to the Nativity and beyond, as seen through medieval eyes. We have mostly performed in the City or East End of London but moved to a new venue, St Saviour NW3 (near Chalk Farm/Primrose Hill) in 2016

Calling all budding playwrights
The Lincoln Mystery Plays Trust would like to offer you the opportunity to submit a one act play on a topic or setting of local cultural heritage for consideration for performance in 2026.
In a special New Writers Showcase event in April 2026, we will include 3 or 4 plays of local heritage/historical interest each lasting approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
If you have a passion for creatively exploring the past and have always wanted to see your printed work come to life, here’s your chance!
The deadline for submission is Saturday 24th January.

Still time to get involved in this year's production - just come along to the rehearsal tonight (Monday 1st September) or next week (Monday 8th) at 7pm in St Saviour's Eton Road. Full details on the website https://theplayersofstpeter.org.uk/

In particular we're still looking for a young woman to play Mary. A Mary who can sing would be ideal! Note that the Mary role in this cycle is a bit more interesting/substantial than in some of the others!
