Happy New Year!

Join us in entering 2026 with a commitment to living more closely aligned with the seasons; starting with reducing the carbon footprint of our diet by indulging in the delicious fruit and vegetables growing naturally, nearby at this time of year.

We're motivated by this gorgeous zine developed as part of Orla Flynn Staines' Camden Inspire Youth Ambassador project, which includes a calendar of seasonal produce. Orla compiled the zine with her own work and the anecdotes, poetry and art of contributors. It's such a thought-provoking piece of work that asks you to delve in time and again, exploring perspectives and experiences of climate change and the environment.

You can download the zine now to read / print. Link in bio - enjoy!

Wishing you a creative and fulfilling 2026! 7th

This year, the Camden Inspire community strategy was partially curated by our Youth Ambassadors - seven young people appointed to craft their own engagement programmes to bring the festival and its message to new audiences. Although Inspire has always been rooted in the community, it felt critical this year to put together a youth board to disseminate a climate change message by the young people who feel it so acutely.

They designed their own methods to reach networks they had built over the years through their youth groups, neighbourhood spaces, religious groups and community gardens. They had in-person conversations and workshops, devising ways to represent the festival to appeal to their peers. We aimed to empower them with the agency to shape parts of the festival according to their own interests and to explore communication approaches that would best suit the people they worked with.

The result is that the future of Camden Inspire has been shaped by a group of brilliant young minds, and the value of young people guiding the festival’s engagement is proven. In return, as well as payment for their time, they had a meaningful part exploring youth-led activism and engagement which we hope will stimulate ideas for their future projects.

Over the coming weeks and months we’ll explore their individual output in more detail, but for now, a huge thank you to our Ambassadors:

Anisa Adeleke-Begum
Cassie Adoptante
Hdayet Otaky
Lillie Aissa
Orla O’Flynn Staines
Rosella Cottam
Safi El Dardiry

It was a privilege to work with you all this year 🌟

Christmas gifting ideas #2: bundle dyeing!

's got us thinking about new approaches to gifting that don't impact our environment.

And now this wonderful skill is available to you with an entirely free guide, within the Inspire Resources in our bio.

Bundle dyeing uses techniques rooted in Latvian traditions of dyeing easter eggs with natural materials. Translated over to fabrics, the craft imprints vibrant patterns on to material with botanical dyes.

Why not try reimagining a piece of fabric such as a scarf, with the exquisite colours of nature? A unique and personal gift that doesn't cost the earth. 🌏

More Christmas gift ideas from Camden Inspire!

brought to Inspire the fascinating skill of bundle dyeing, and it may shake up your presents this year. The artist has created a helpful How To guide which you can access for free within the Inspire Resources in our bio.

At this time of year, it’s easy to feel pressured to rush around the shops buying gifts. Are these things you know people really want and will use? Or, are you buying because of the expectation - knowing there’s a chance they’ll end up in a charity shop or landfill?

Artivist Francesca Busca came to Inspire and transformed our perception of what is the true potential of ‘waste’. Wrapped up in her striking waste mosaics is a whole conversation about the emergency facing our environment. She inspires us to see discarded objects with fresh eyes and imagine for them a new life as art.

As a society, we are embroiled in a culture of consumption. Francesca asks that we put an end to the insatiable search for new stuff, and instead make inspiring art with what already exists. We hope you take this as inspiration when thinking about the gifts you’ll give this festive season.

Some appreciation for , this year's Camden Inspire illustrator. We were so chuffed with her illustrations that perfectly bridge creativity and climate awareness. Fun and vintage, whilst telling a profound story of the urgent need to change how we live. Bridie was totally committed to understanding the objectives of the festival, and telling a story that felt both globally and locally relevant.

As you can probably tell, we would highly recommend 👑

Check out Bridie's work on her page. And support artists - AI could never 💅

Beyond excited that Brian d’Souza – aka Auntie Flo – is joining us in the Inspire garden to showcase his pioneering sound project, Plants Can Dance.

Come chill by the stage in our beautiful community garden and listen to Brian translate electricity from plants into music.

“The natural world can often be out of reach. For the 6.2 billion of us that live in urban areas, we’re surrounded by concrete, limited our access to nature under our feet…

I entered the world of biosonifcation which allowed me to listen to nature’s internal rhythms. I created bioelectrical music for vertical farms, mycelium pavilions, mushroom dens and even Vinnie Jones’ vegetable patch!”
