You can't, and that's the whole point.

Food insecurity does not discriminate. The people who turn to Food Bank Aid are our neighbours, our colleagues, our friends. They are parents juggling impossible choices, professionals who have hit a sudden rough patch, pensioners stretching a fixed income, and young people just trying to get by. They are ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances, and they deserve dignity, not judgement.

Every week, your donations help us keep 33 food banks across North London stocked with the essentials they need to support local people facing food insecurity. 💚

From a few cupboard staples to a full shopping trolley, every contribution helps us get the right food to the right place at the right time.

Today is International Self Care Day, a moment to reflect on what it really means to look after yourself.

For many of us, self care means a long bath or an early night. But for millions of people across the UK, the basics that most of us take for granted, soap, shampoo, a toothbrush, are simply out of reach.

According to The Hygiene Bank, 92% of people experiencing hygiene poverty say it limits their social interactions, and 50% say it is causing them anxiety or depression.

Feeling clean isn't a luxury. It is fundamental to confidence, dignity, and being able to participate in everyday life.

That's why Food Bank Aid provides hygiene essentials alongside food, because true care means meeting people's needs in full.
