Did you catch the final episode of MTV Teen Mom UK?

Shannon gave an incredibly moving speech, sharing her brother Kaiden's story, who had his wish to visit the live auditions of Britain's Got Talent granted last year.

Together, they have been fundraising for Rays of Sunshine, to help give other seriously ill children the chance to experience that same joy and create memories that families can treasure forever.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Lord Jeffrey Archer.

Over the years, Jeffrey joined us for a number of special occasions, from celebrating World Book Day with our wish children to being a brilliant auctioneer at several of our fundraising events, helping us raise vital funds to bring joy and hope to seriously ill children and their families.

Stephen Allan OBE, Lifetime President of Rays of Sunshine, said: “Jeffrey was a great friend to Rays of Sunshine and a remarkably good auctioneer. He was entertaining, effective and meticulous in his preparation — and if he didn’t think an auction lot was good enough, he certainly wasn’t shy in telling you. He gave his time freely and generously, and I have very fond memories of getting to know him over the years. His contribution to charity fundraising was significant and will not be forgotten”.

We are incredibly grateful for Jeffrey’s support of Rays of Sunshine and the difference he helped make. Our thoughts are with his wife, Dame Mary, his family and all those close to him at this very sad time.

Luca's farmyard family party wish 🎉

For his wish, we organised for 4-year-old Luca to have a "wild" party with all his loved ones.

This special day included a petting zoo, plenty of bubbles, a children's entertainer, and his favourite nursery rhyme, the B-I-N-G-O song 🐕

Luca lives with cerebral palsy and other complex conditions, so his wish was a chance to be surrounded by all his favourite things and everyone who loves him. His smile says it all!

The difference a Teddy Bear can make 💛🧸

This National Teddy Bear Day, we took bears to the bedsides of hospitals across the UK, like Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.

The team handed out teddy bear kits and ran bear-themed activities in the hospital, bringing a bit of fun and comfort to children who need it most.

Magic moments like these happened across the UK, and it’s what National Teddy Bear Day is all about. A small distraction that can make a big difference to a child in hospital.

🏆 WE WON! 🎉

We’re delighted to share that Rays of Sunshine has won Best Charity Film in the Medium Charity category at the 2026 Third Sector Awards for Cissy’s Story.

The film follows Cissy’s journey – from having her wish granted as a child, through other magical moments in her life, to the young woman she is today.

It’s a story that captures what we mean by a journey of joy – the difference we can make for seriously ill children from diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond.

And what made the night even more special? Cissy was there with us to collect the award 💛

A huge thank you to Cissy for sharing her story so generously, to Emma and the team at Saltways for bringing it to life, and to the Third Sector judges for choosing our film.

It was also a proud night for Rays of Sunshine as our CEO, Amy Chambers, was named a finalist for the Rising CEO Award alongside so many inspiring leaders from across the charity sector.

For Amy, that recognition reflects the incredible work of the whole Rays of Sunshine team and everything we continue to achieve together ✨

"Anything that could make him smile or take his mind off what he was going through meant the world to us."

That's the difference a teddy can make on National Teddy Bear Day. Thanks to our sponsor Howden and our friends at Teddy Tastic, we're sending thousands of bears to the bedsides of seriously ill children 🧸💛

Sunita's son Owen spent many of his early years in and out of hospital with repeated kidney infections, fevers and seizures.

Then the hospital had a special Rays of Sunshine delivery - Owen's new teddy.

"His teddy quickly became his comfort and his companion. Rays of Sunshine gave him something positive to associate with the hospital instead of only fear and medical treatment. They created moments of fun, laughter and normality at a time when our family desperately needed them."

Owen is 9 now. The teddy still sits in his room, a reminder of what he came through, and proof that even something as simple as a teddy bear can bring comfort to a child when they need it most.
