Adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for young people aged 6-25

This weekend, 3 leaders and 5 Scouts completed a fantastic expedition hike, carrying everything they needed for the weekend, including tents, food, and personal kit.

Starting at Cheshunt railway station on Saturday, the team hiked to Danemead Scout Campsite, where they camped overnight before setting off again on Sunday to hike to Goffs Oak.

Throughout the weekend, the Scouts took turns navigating the route, developing their map-reading and leadership skills while supporting each other along the way.

With fine weather, high spirits, and plenty of determination, everyone completed the challenge successfully. Well done to all involved for a great weekend of adventure, teamwork, and Scouting.

The theme at Scouts on Friday was Disability Awareness. Scouts were challenged at 5 bases to complete an activity with some impediment attached to it, and an adaptation to make the challenge more manageable. The message learned from experiencing these activities is ‘With understanding, help and different ways of doing things, disabled people can do anything.'

Last night, 10 of our Scouts took part in a fantastic Discover Scuba Diving session at Albany Pool, run by Dive Force Marine Ltd.

Under the guidance of qualified PADI professionals, the Scouts experienced the excitement of breathing underwater and learning basic scuba diving skills in a safe and controlled environment. All equipment was provided, and the instructors did an excellent job helping everyone build confidence and have fun.

A huge thank you to Dive Force Marine Ltd for providing such a memorable experience. With over 30 years of experience working with Scout groups, the team delivered an evening that our Scouts will be talking about for a long time to come.

Well done to all 10 Scouts who took part and embraced the challenge!

☀️ Group Camp 2026 ☀️
Tolmers Scout Camp 22nd–24th May 2026

What an amazing weekend away with all sections of the group taking part!

Our Cubs and Scouts camped all weekend and made the most of the fantastic weather, with temperatures reaching the high 20s. The Scouts even cooked their meals over wood fires — a real camp experience! 🔥

Activities across the weekend included air rifles, archery, tunnels and the climbing wall, keeping everyone busy and smiling from start to finish.

Our Beavers joined us on Saturday for a fun-filled day enjoying the pedal cars, tunnels and a photo hunt around the site. It was great to see them joining in and experiencing camp life.

Saturday evening brought everyone together around the campfire, with songs, laughter and plenty of fun. It was lovely to have Beaver parents join us too.

A special congratulations as well to the two Scouts who were invested during the weekend — welcome officially to the troop! 👏

Thank you to all the leaders, helpers, parents and young people who made the weekend such a success.

About 30 years ago these four were the majority of our Cub & Scout leadership team.

Today we have 20 volunteers on camp!
