A delightful morning to meander through a peaceful green space with Friends of Maryon and Maryon Wilson Parks, clearing up after a couple of parties 😡. Check out the Friends' page if you fancy joining their litter-picks and conservation activities. Andrew is exhibiting a rare wood-sedge ready for planting! A great way to start the weekend. 💚

A tale of two litterpicks. The always-calming Friends of Woolwich Common and the blood-boiling ! I couldn't leave the fox and wind strewn rubbish on CCL any longer. At least, from the evidence picked up and bagged, those responsible are trying not to procreate! (I don't mean the foxes...😬).

We tackled the Woolwich Road today - plenty of litter all over our area at the moment but this was particularly bad! 6 people, one hour, 10 bags! Thanks everyone including GoodGym Greenwich.

Surely the Council and CAFC can do better than this? Work together, call on early-morning volunteers or CAFC-paid contractors to clean up before the morning rush hour on the day after a match? Given how much a professional footballer costs, surely a couple of people on minimum wage cleaning up the worst for a couple of hours at 7am is reasonable?

This was all still there at after 9.30am.

No litter to be seen in rural Germany so I picked grapes instead as it's that time of year! 13 people, 2 hours, 689 kg!

A walk by the river. Should have taken the litterpicker! However, where there's trash, there's often the bag it was brought in. Lots of rubbish = big Lidl bag stuffed into a tree. 🙄🤔
