With winter setting in, sometimes the pace of our lives can lead us to forget that this season is one for slowing down.

We’re really pleased to share with you our next community meet up and invite you to join us for a gentle winter walk on Sunday December 14th.

This year we’re planning two simultaneous walks, one in London and a second in the Peak District, and so we’re hoping you’ll be able to join us wherever you are! (Do feel free to organise your own simultaneous local walk if both these locations are out of bounds!)

Expect a slow ramble, with space to be, to explore, to sense into the season and our bodies, and with some light facilitation to invite some rich collective enquiry and explore our connection to the land.

We welcome wanderers from all backgrounds and ages!

This is an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and let the meanders of your rivers meet again... or meet new friends too!

The London walk will be guided by Rowan Salim and the Peak District walk by Max Girardeau)

We’re back with two new dates for our Facilitating Dialogue & Connection training! After the success of our January session, we’re bringing this one-day immersive workshop to London on Friday, April 11th, and Sheffield on Friday, May 16th.

This training is designed for educators, youth workers, and facilitators looking to create safer, more inclusive group spaces. Through listening circle techniques, trauma-informed practices, and practical facilitation tools, you'll gain the skills to build trust, foster connection, and amplify youth voice.

Everyone who attended in January said they'd recommend it to friends and colleagues!

What to expect?

✨ Trauma-Informed Practices – Create spaces that support emotional well-being and psychological safety.

🌀 Listening Circle Techniques – Learn how ‘the way of council’ can transform group communication.

💡 Facilitation Skills – Practical tools to encourage open and inclusive dialogue.

Join our Co-Founders in London and Max Girardeau in Sheffield, to learn how to cultivate spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and valued!

Happy new year to all in our community and wider networks!

In just a few days, we're kicking off 2025 with our next 'Facilitating Dialogue & Connection in Youth Settings' training. Join us this Friday 10th Jan in Sheffield to develop a holistic toolkit of relational practices to bring more connection, trust, trauma-informed practices and build psychological safety in your youth setting.

More info and tickets in our bio.

What to expect?

🌟 Introduction to Trauma-Informed Practices
Discover approaches that support participants in recognising and addressing the emotional needs within youth spaces, creating a foundation of trust and respect.

🌟 Practice holding ‘Council’
Learn the principles of council as a listening circle, a powerful method for encouraging open dialogue, fostering mutual understanding, and building connections across group members.

🌟 Overcoming Common Barriers
Learn how to meet people where they are at, perhaps when there’s limited emotional literacy, a culture of harmful communication, or a lack of ‘buy in’ amongst participants.

🌟 Facilitation Techniques for Inclusive Communication
Learn practical skills and group exercises that encourage open and courageous expression. You’ll leave with creative techniques that enable inclusive dialogue, including icebreakers, warm ups, talking prompts, drama games, good openings and endings, enabling every participant to feel safe to express themselves and contribute to the community.

🌟 Tools for Building Psychological Safety
Explore exercises and considerations about the setting you work to reinforce a shared sense of safety and belonging, allowing young people to engage authentically and openly within group settings.

"I was truly moved by this experience. It was interactive, personal and I could feel the power of all the tools we learnt. I'm excited to put them into practice!” – Youth Worker

With Autumn beginning to present its wonderful array of colours we thought we better hatch a plan to get out there together!

We are delighted to share our next community meetup, on Sat 19th October for a long stroll through the Peak District together, followed by an optional dinner + camp out.

We've chosen a location and route that is easily accessible by train from other parts of the country and a route that will take in some fine views and historic sites in the heart of the Peak District.

Why not make a weekend of it and camp out with us at the local campsite, enjoying some rich fireside conversations that evening?

Whether this is your first time heading out onto the hills, or you're at your happiest walking barefoot through bogs, whether you've been to lots of Visionaries' events or this is your first one, we hope you're able to join us and you are so welcome.

Expect to be in good company 🤪 with folk from different backgrounds and all ages attending. Expect some light facilitation on the walk to bring us together, to invite in some rich collective inquiry, and to explore our connection to the land. Oh, and feel free to bring a friend.

That's a wrap!

The Village At The Edge Of The World has been packed away until next year. Our hearts are full of so many incredible memories and stories created in this beautiful little patch of the Lake District. We witnessed each other cross thresholds, move out beyond the borders of the known into a place of inner and outer discovery.

Here's a snippet of the action....

Thank you to everyone who helped bring so much soul, vulnerability, joy and connection to all 4 camps. Thank you to Bob and Jenna for having us and welcoming us onto this bountiful land yet again. Thank you to all the beings who guided us to deeper truths. Thank you to Rowan, Vanessa, Katie, Amy C, Amy F, Hannah, Federico, Max, Jenna & Claire for your incredible space holding ❤️❤️

P.S.We'll put next year's dates out later this Autumn, so watch this space if you're keen to join the fun next time!

P.P.S. We're also going to be announcing some informal Autumn community meetups soon. Sign up to our newsletter or join the community WhatsApp group to stay in the loop.

There's a village waiting at the edge of the world.... A place where you meet your self anew, where you get to know your wild edges, extending yourself into the unknown to find what might be possible in your lifetime.

Spending deep time in nature, either alone or with a group of allies, has brought me such profound healing, wisdom and grounding I can't imagine a life without it now.

It's such a privilege to host The Village At The Edge Of The World each summer. This annual migration up the Lake District, accompanied by groups of all ages looking to connect with life in a new way, along with my fellow guides, is an absolute honour.

We've still got a space across 4 camps (for adults of all ages, educators and a camp for teens). If you're looking to initiate yourself into a new sense of self, or shake of some old skin, or you want to see what you can learn from a week off-grid living in community, please join us. You'll be Warmly received by our community of guides (Amy Cooper Rowan Salim Katie Rowan Jenna Bean Federico Rivas Barbi)

Please share this post with anyone you think might be interested....
