What a way to round off a brilliant first year with

Four days of rowing skills, drills, games and plenty of time on the water - with everyone making their way from Explorers boats through to racing sculls 🚣‍♀️

It’s been fantastic to see how much the young people have progressed throughout the year, building their skills, confidence and love for rowing along the way.

As part of our work with the , we’re excited to be bringing the opportunities and benefits of rowing to more young people across their schools. We love working with Trusts to build sustainable rowing programmes that can reach even more young people and create opportunities for them to discover something new.

A huge well done to all the young people who took part, and a massive thank you to the coaches for all their hard work in making the year such a success! 👏

Now for a well-earned summer break… before we’re back in boats in September!

A first adventure on the water 🌊

The Active Row Bristol Open Club crew took on an 18k round trip through the centre of Bristol, including their first bridge and first lock, before stopping for a picnic at City of Bristol Rowing Club and then all the way back to Bristol Ariel Rowing Club

Meet Cordelia! 💙

Although she’s been with us for a few months now, it’s about time we properly introduced the face behind Active Row Thames Valley!

Over the last five months, Cordelia has been working with schools across the region, helping more young people discover rowing and paddle sports while building confidence, teamwork and a sense of belonging along the way.

Her enthusiasm is infectious, and we’re so excited to finally start sharing more of the brilliant work happening in Thames Valley.

Of course, no programme happens without a great team behind it. All our Active Row Coaches bring energy, encouragement and expertise to every session, helping young people step outside their comfort zones as well as pushing each other to be the best leaders they can be.

We can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to across Active Row Thames Valley!

Everyone comes to sport for a different reason 💙

A chance to try something new.
A break from the classroom.
Time with friends.
Building confidence.
Or simply because it’s fun.

Whatever the reason, we’re proud to create opportunities where young people can build life skills, find a sense of belonging and discover what they’re capable of.

Be Curious. Be Brave. Be Yourself.

Another brilliant Active Row On Water Festival in the books!

Students from Oasis Academy Temple Quarter and City Academy joined us in Bristol for a day packed with SUP Netball, SUP Skills Challenges, a Quad Treasure Hunt Time Trial and lots of sunshine.

There were plenty of smiles, a bit of healthy competition and lots of opportunities to build teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills along the way.

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a fun day. We love seeing schools come together, try something new and enjoy everything being on the water has to offer 💙
