iPhone Cinematography 101 is a FREE two-day intensive with award-winning filmmaker Timi Akindele-Ajani - taking you through the same process he uses to create professional work for major brands and institutions.

Over two days, you’ll get into:
📱 Shooting on iPhone - what your Pro model can actually do, the settings that matter and how to get footage looking less like phone footage and more like cinema
🎬 Pre-production & prep - the planning and decisions that make a project work before you even press record
🎨 Post-production - from edit through to colour grading in DaVinci Resolve, so you can take your footage from first shot to final grade

It’s not about owning an expensive camera. It’s about using what you have.

These shots were all captured on Timi Akindele Ajani’s iPhone. Now he’s going to teach you how to do it - for FREE!

is a London-based commercial filmmaker, and for two days he’ll take you through the full production pipeline he uses on paid jobs, from shooting and prep to post-production. This workshop is for you if you’ve got a Pro model iPhone and know you’re barely using 10% of it.

You’ll learn:
📱 How Timi shoots on his iPhone
⚙️ The settings to change before pressing record
🎨 How to create a post production pipeline from edit through to colour grading in DaVinci Resolve
🎞️ 3 LUTs to help you work faster

Last week, as part of The Music is Black Festival and East Bank Academy, we brought together an incredible panel of women and non-binary leaders working across music to share honest stories, career journeys and practical advice with the next generation of creatives.

Huge thanks to our incredible speakers Jamz Supernova Ýè oliviataylar Chloe Kyei and tone | DJ • Creative Producer • MGMT for sharing your experiences and insights across broadcasting, artist development, marketing, brand partnerships, creative production and artist management. 💫

From navigating the music industry to building a creative career, there was plenty to take away, and we loved seeing so many young creatives in the room.

Through her thoughtful eye for detail and ability to capture authentic moments of connection, photographer Chanelle Johnson () documented the energy, creativity and spirit of Power & Respect, the second free festival weekend of The Music is Black Festival from East Bank. ✨ From intimate exchanges and powerful performances to the vibrant atmosphere across the festival, Chanelle’s imagery reflects the people, stories and communities at the heart of the celebration. Her work captures not only what happened, but how it felt to be there.

Power & Respect brought together an inspiring programme curated by Jamz Supernova, Yazmin Lacey x TYSON and BORN N BREAD, creating space to celebrate, amplify and honour the voices driving Black music forward.

As a partner of The Music is Black Festival, the Good Growth Hub is proud to support the incredible artists, collectives and communities involved throughout the festival. Still to come:

STEP 14 is here, offering 12-month paid traineeships for East Londoners aged 18–30 looking to kickstart their creative careers.

✨ Earn a London Living Wage or above
✨ Gain hands-on experience with leading creative organisations
✨ Access career coaching, networking opportunities and monthly professional development workshops
✨ Join a cohort of emerging creatives on the same journey

This year’s placements include opportunities with BBC Music, Bow Arts, Sadler's Wells sadlers_wells, London College of Fashion, UAL, UCL East Engagement and V&A East

If you have some creative skills, education or experience and are looking for support to break into the industry, STEP could be for you.
