Through her thoughtful eye for detail and ability to capture authentic moments of connection, photographer Chanelle Johnson () documented the energy, creativity and spirit of Power & Respect, the second free festival weekend of The Music is Black Festival from East Bank. ✨ From intimate exchanges and powerful performances to the vibrant atmosphere across the festival, Chanelle’s imagery reflects the people, stories and communities at the heart of the celebration. Her work captures not only what happened, but how it felt to be there.

Power & Respect brought together an inspiring programme curated by Jamz Supernova, Yazmin Lacey x TYSON and BORN N BREAD, creating space to celebrate, amplify and honour the voices driving Black music forward.

As a partner of The Music is Black Festival, the Good Growth Hub is proud to support the incredible artists, collectives and communities involved throughout the festival. Still to come:

🌈 Q***r Frequencies (22–23 August)
A vibrant takeover from London’s q***r collectives, exploring music, culture and community through new perspectives.

🚀 Black to the Future (12–13 September)
A genre-defying closing weekend where artists blend sound, sci-fi and imagination to envision bold new futures.
