Due to extreme weather this week, the gardens are currently closed to the public.
We always want to ensure the safety of our visitors and our hardworking team, so we’re hitting pause for now.

Another FREE activity at our Summer Party tomorrow Saturday June 13th 1-6pm - will be FREE Yoga Sessions with 🧘

✨ All welcome – suitable for every body and every level

Blithe Yoga is a welcoming, community-led not-for-profit dedicated to making yoga and holistic wellbeing accessible to all. Their diverse team of local teachers offers affordable classes, courses, workshops and holistic practices in nurturing, inclusive spaces rooted in care, connection and community.

🎨 Another fantastic FREE activity at tomorrow’s Summer Party at the LightHouse & Gardens!

Join for a special Gelli Printing Workshop, using leaves and foliage collected from the gardens to create beautiful, nature-inspired prints. 🍃✨

Founded in East London in 2024, Indygo Arts & Crafts is all about bringing people together through creativity, community and making. Their motto says it all:

Create. Connect. Belong.

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just curious to try something new, come along and get creative with this fun, hands-on workshop.

Indygo Arts & Crafts regularly run sessions at the LightHouse and have an exciting new course coming up this July: INDYGO STITCH STUDIO – Machine Sewing for Beginners. ✨ Don’t forget! THIS SATURDAY 13 June, 1–6pm - join us in the Gardens for our biggest free community event of the year so far! ✨

🌤️ And the weather is looking dry!

We will be joined by the amazing , who will be performing and also inviting visitors to take part in a FREE drumming workshop 🥁. All ages and abilities are welcome — no previous experience necessary, just a chance to bang a really loud drum!

Drum Works were one of the first users of the LightHouse when it first opened and now run weekly classes here. They have performed all over London, including at the UEFA Champions League Final, BBC Children in Need, the Royal Variety Performance, and Pride, to name a few. They use drumming as a tool to inspire creativity, build social cohesion, and empower young people.

“The Drum Works project is powerful and is making a difference to children’s lives. It shows the power of the drum, and how this can be the glue that holds one person to another.”

Alongside their weekly classes at The LightHouse, Drum Works deliver a range of additional activities, including short-term school projects, CPD training, and corporate team-building sessions. Last week we were also very pleased to welcome members of who volunteered their time to help clear and tidy our orchard area.

GoodGym is a community of runners who combine getting fit with doing good, supporting local community projects and helping charities through practical volunteering.Thank you to everyone who got involved.

✨This time next weekend, join us in the Gardens for our biggest free community event of the year so far! - 13th June 1pm–6pm✨

We will be joined by , who will be inviting visitors to take part in a special Community Button Art Project.

Using recycled textiles and donated buttons, we’ll create a collaborative artwork inspired by light, nature, growth and connection - reflecting the spirit of The Lighthouse & Gardens and the people who make it so special.

Each visitor will be invited to add a button to the artwork, becoming part of a shared creative installation that will later be displayed within the space. No art experience is needed, just a willingness to take part, connect and create together. Every button added represents a person, a moment and a contribution to something bigger.

Alongside the button project, there will be yoga sessions with , drumming performances and workshops with , crafting activities with family-friendly fun, delicious food, a bouncy castle, community gardening activities and much more throughout the afternoon.
