The 29th Made in Prague Festival organised by Czech Centre London concludes in grand style with a gala celebrating Czech violin virtuoso Pavel Šporcl, whose expressive artistry and dazzling technique have enthralled audiences worldwide. Following his triumphant concert at Queen Elizabeth Hall last year, Šporcl returns to perform with the English Chamber Orchestra Ensemble in an evening of vibrant string music.

🇨🇿 Today we mark November 17, 1989, the Velvet Revoltion that brought freedom & democracy back to us after 41 years of communism.✌️

On the day, Prague students 🧑‍🎓👩‍🎓organized a peaceful march that was officially approved to commemorate 50 years since the 1939 student protest against German occupation. Brutal reaction of communist police, however, ignited a spark. 🔥 People had enough of the regime.

✨ This day reminds us that freedom depends upon courage of individuals as well as power of society.
