Every child deserves a childhood filled with safety, joy, learning and hope. 💛

In Gaza, children are facing unimaginable hardship. Hope & Play works to provide essential support to around 14,000 children and their families each month, helping bring food, education and moments of play when they’re needed most.

Your support can make a real difference:
• £10 provides a week’s bread for 5 children
• £50 could feed a family for a week
• £85 covers a child’s school year

Help give Gaza’s children life, joy and a future. 🤍

Slide 2 - Art for Palestine 21 Sun Street, Lewes, BN7 2QB ///clearcut.panthers.eyelidOpening times Sat/Sun, 5, 6, 12 & 13 Sept, 11-5pmOur venue is an older building and unfortunately is not fully accessible for electric wheelchairs. There are some limitations to the building, including restricted access and space and the pavement on Sun Street is narrow with some obstructions. The entrance to the venue does include a small step up and the pathway and includes cobbles and some uneven surfaces. We’re sorry that we cannot currently provide full accessibility for all visitors.

Slide 3 - Accessibility - TravelLewes has some steep streets, narrow pavements and inconsistent dropped-kerb provision. Some routes may be difficult for wheelchair and mobility-aid users. We’ve tried to provide some help below but you may wish to get more specific advice from the Lewes Tourist Information Centre, 01273 483448.ARRIVING BY TRAINLewes Station has step-free access to some platforms, lifts, accessible toilets and staff assistance. Please check your platform before travelling, as some platforms are reached by a steep ramp. To avoid Station Street, which is a steep hill, you can walk via Landsdown Place > Friars Walk > Eastgate Street (past Waitrose) > Wellington Place > Lancaster Street > Sun Street. This does extend the walk by around 7-8 minutes but avoids the steep hill.ARRIVING BY BUSThe closest bus stop for the 28 & 29 is the High Street (both travelling from the east and the west), and the most direct route is via Fisher Street. Crossing the road at the end of Fisher Street can be tricky and you may wish to walk a little further to the pedestrian crossing outside the Elephant & Castle public house.Continued in comments…

ARRIVING BY CARDisabled Blue Badge holders may park free of charge in any Lewes District Council (LDC) Pay and Display car parks for a limited period. A current badge must be clearly displayed and all conditions of issue must be adhered to. Most of LDC car parks have designated disabled bays but any bay can be use

We Are Still Here. 🇵🇸

One of the organisations that Art of Palestine is supporting, and what many of the artists who amare exhibiting are part of.

Since April 2024, We Are Still Here has supported university students in Gaza through teaching, mentoring, English-language training, creative writing, and vital support for students and their families.

With over 80% of the students supported being women, including mothers with young children, your support helps protect education, dignity, creativity, and hope in the face of displacement, loss, and disrupted education.

What a beautiful afternoon! ❤️💚🤍🖤

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Unity Picnic in the Park today and helped make it such a warm, joyful and welcoming community gathering.

Thank you to everyone who brought food to share, helped with the organising, supported the event, enjoyed the music, and most importantly, came together in the spirit of unity, friendship and solidarity.

It was wonderful to see our community connecting, sharing and celebrating together. 🧺🎶🌻

Special thanks to Pam and de Femmes & Alex Burall bringing the music and the vibes!

It’s always a pleasure and privilege to work with Lewes Stand Up To Racism in bringing everyone together and continuing to create spaces where people can stand united against racism and for a fairer, more inclusive community.

Thank you, Lewes! ❤️💚🖤🤍

MEET THE ARTISTS | Nour Ahmed Almajayda

Nour is a documentary filmmaker and photographer from Gaza, Palestine. 🇵🇸

“Numbers can never hold the weight of a life, and storytelling is how dignity gets restored to people who have been reduced to statistics.”

Before the war, Nour’s photographs were colourful. Now, she finds herself drawn to the moments when she catches the light again, or sees colour again.

“Most of my pictures now are of the moments I catch the light again, or see colour again.”

We are honoured to bring Nour’s work together with artists from Gaza and Sussex in an exhibition in solidarity — a collection of work exploring love, loss, memory, displacement, resistance, survival, and the everyday.
