Want to know what we do at the East Anglian Sailing Trust? Check out our latest video showing you what you can expect when you sail with us, and if you choose to give your time to EAST as a volunteer. A warm welcome awaits you and you can find out more by visiting our website at https://www.east-anglian-sailing-trust.org.uk/.

The film footage features our keelboats, and includes visits from various school groups, scenes preparing our Sonars in the marina and cleaning of a Sonar after being hauled out of the water at the end of the sailing season. The film also includes dramatic aerial film sequences taken by one of our volunteers during an adult sailing session.

On 15th May, the East Anglian Sailing Trust had the pleasure of hosting members of East Anglian Mark Master Masons to receive a cheque for £900.00 towards the purchase of new laptops. We are enormously grateful to the generosity of the East Anglian Mark Master Masons. Photo: Tom Nugent accepts a cheque on behalf of EAST from Trevor Tinley of the East Anglian Mark Master Masons.

Our shakedown sailing sessions are now complete! EAST conducts a number of these sessions as it gives us an opportunity to ensure our boats are ready after their winter maintenance, and provide essential training of EAST volunteers ahead of a busy sailing season. We look forward to welcoming our first group of sailors to sail with EAST on 22nd April. ⛵

Despite challenging wind conditions, we've managed to get our boats back in the water today. We will now get each boat rigged prior to a schedule of volunteer training and shakedown sailing sessions. We're looking forward to our first Discoverers sailing session on 23rd April.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Sailability. So many different types of people give their time to support sailors in getting on the water - and there is a role for everyone, on or off the water! So if you've been thinking of joining, but perhaps you're not an avid sailor (yet!) there's still a space for you here!💙

On the water you could help with:
⛵Instructing and coaching
⛵Helming and crewing
⛵Race management
⛵Safety boat crew

Off the water you could help with:
⭐Preparing boats and handing out kits to sailors
⭐Provide a warm welcome and contact point for enquiries
⭐Help maintain boats
⭐Help with membership schemes, handling monies fundraised, ensure legislation and regulations are complied with etc.
⭐Digital, communications and marketing to spread the word of your club

Or even providing a nice warm cup of tea and a homemade bake - especially on those chilly days!☕🍰

There's so many roles available at your local club, so please do reach out if you think you could help!
