Exactly one year ago, Talk to a Peer officially launched with TAP Air Portugal and what better way to mark that milestone than being back in Portugal, delivering the final training course of the year for peer supporters and key stakeholders.✨

Behind every successful peer support programme is a team of people who care deeply about making a difference.

✈️ Aviation Health Conference 2026 — Istanbul!

Last week, our Commercial Director Peter Whitten and Managing Director David Whiffin travelled to Istanbul for the Aviation Health Conference 2026.

It was a brilliant opportunity to:

📅 So… apparently Monday was Ask a Stupid Question Day.

And yes… we’ve only just got around to posting about it. 😂

But perhaps that’s quite fitting, because when it comes to drug and alcohol testing, there really is no such thing as a stupid question.

Whether you’re new to testing, brushing up on your knowledge, or simply thinking, “I probably should know this… but I’m going to ask anyway” — ask the question. 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

Because asking questions builds:
🧠 Knowledge
💬 Confidence
✅ Consistency
🎯 Good practice
And that’s exactly why effective training matters.

Drug and alcohol testing can involve procedures, terminology, legislation and practical situations that aren’t always straightforward. Feeling confident enough to ask when you’re unsure is a strength, not something to be embarrassed about.

So, even though we’re a couple of days late celebrating Ask a Stupid Question Day… perhaps the message is one worth sharing any day of the year:
👉 There is no stupid question.

Ask it. Learn from it. Get it right. 💙

The picture doesn’t tell the whole story 📸☀️

August can sometimes feel like a month of holidays, socialising and summer plans.

✈️ Seeing photos of people away
🍹 Catching up with friends
🌴 Watching everyone else enjoy the summer

But a photo only shows one moment.

Behind that picture, someone might be feeling lonely.
Someone might be struggling financially.
Someone might be having a difficult time at work.
Or someone might simply be having a very different summer to the one they imagined.

And that’s okay. ❤️

So this Wednesday, take a moment to look beyond the picture.

💬 Check in with someone.
👂 Really listen.
🤝 Make space for an honest conversation.
❤️ And remember that “How are you?” can mean so much more when you genuinely want to hear the answer.

You never know what someone might be carrying behind the smile.

That’s why Talk to a Peer exists, to create a safe space where people can talk, be heard and feel less alone.

🍹 August is here… and so are the summer drinks.

With holidays, BBQs, festivals and long summer evenings in full swing, it’s easy for alcohol consumption to creep into the working week.

But what happens when someone turns up to work the morning after, still impaired?

⚠️ Are your employees aware of your Drug & Alcohol Testing policy?
🧪 Would you know if someone was unfit for work?
🛡️ And is your current approach doing enough to protect your people and your business?
