In the spirit of reading and learning, here’s our recommendation for the shelves of all libraries: Q***r Ecologies: S*x, Nature, Politics, Desire.

Spending time learning about the natural world challenges the idea that heterosexuality and the gender binary are the only “natural” ways of being. Nature is diverse, and so are we.

At Greenwood, we recognise the rights and freedoms of all people. We encourage debate, understanding, compassion and safety amongst the trees.

It's Moorlands Wild Weeks and we've kicked off without a football in sight at Endon Hall Primary. The theme this year is water, and we were welcomed by Reception Class who warmed up their curious minds, bendy bodies and creative instinct with just perfect support from volunteers Kaz and Karen to whom I am very grateful.

By the end of the week we'll have worked with around 100 children, exploring the water cycle, what might not exist without water, and reminding ourselves how to have fun when we get those summer showers and downpours.

Pictured is a mini rainmaker, decorated by a young child attending Endon Hall Primary.

If anyone finds themselves in London, Barbican on 2 July, I highly recommend visiting this. Possibility thinking is a wonderful, enriching thing.

We are seeing lots of insects that look a bit like this one pictured (thank you Wikipedia) in the woods, and also in my car. It's a type of Scorpion fly of which there are simply too many kinds to list. The male has a wicked looking curly tail which has nothing to do with stinging and everything to do with more amorous intentions. Apparently they don't bite people despite having massive clasping jaws, also important in their courtship apparently unless you're the male and then it sounds like its all game over once the deed is done. So, we are a step closer to knowing what the insect is, but still don't know what might be terrorising Michelle Louise Fleming in the wood's shed.

This week our group of Practitioners swapped ideas of things that would become extinct if it didn't rain ever again.

Slugs
Octopus
Whales
Lepoard seal (ghost of the sea)
Albatross
Pegnuins
Wellies
Kelp forest
Sea grass
Algae
Coral and sponges
Umbrellas

Umbrellas... when was the last time you got yours out and dashed to the shops skipping over puddles together? It's more fun than the weather apps would have us believe. How long will it be before the Met Office App advice is "stay indoors" for a spot of the wet stuff?

Great to see such an engaged group of toddlers, parents and grandparents turn out today in all of the weather at Hassall Green.

Lorna has a couple of reconditioned trad bikes harking back to the early 1990s. Its just so much fun finding a frame, doing it up and nipping over to your mate's on two wheels.

We love stuff that gets people moving and keeps bikes, trikes, scooter and wheels turning. Pop along and see what you can find.

Saturday 6 June 2026, 9am-10.30am

Help us find homes for bikes that have been sent to the Staffordshire Recycling Centres.
We have lots of bikes (and other things with wheels) available for children, teens, and adults.
Your financial contribution will contribute to future bike projects.
