🪾 A MONSTER CALLS 🪾
Workshop - 30th July
Auditions - 11th August
Crispin Community Centre at 7:30pm

From the critically acclaimed bestseller A Monster Calls this stage adaptation deals with love , loss and healing . Thirteen-year-old Conor and his mum have managed just fine since his dad moved. But now his mum is sick and not getting any better. His grandmother won’t stop interfering and the kids at school won’t look him in the eye.

This play has roles across a broad spectrum of ages. We are especially keen to see young actors as this play needs 3 males (16 to mid 20s) and 2 females (16 to mid 20s).

🎬 MEET THE DIRECTOR 🎭

Every mystery needs someone to bring the clues together.

We're delighted to introduce our Director, Paul Townsend, who is leading our open air production of Towards Zero.
Agatha Christie's masterful thriller is a story of secrets, suspicion, and the events that lead to a crime. With a talented cast, in a beautiful setting, and plenty of twists along the way, Paul is bringing this classic mystery to life for our audiences.

The question is: will you solve the mystery before Inspector Leach does? 🔍

An evening of outdoor theatre with Shoemakers Museum’s historic Grange building as the backdrop.

Imagine, 1930’s England. When a house party gathers on the terrace of Gull’s Nest, the Devon clifftop home of Neville’s aunt, Lady Tressilian, British tennis player Neville Strange finds himself caught between his new wife Kay and ex wife Audrey. There is unfinished business between them and tensions are running high. Add to this a long-suffering lady’s companion, a cousin with a grudge, a mysterious stranger, and soon there will be murder. Can Inspector Leach solve the crime before another victim meets their death? A tense and absorbing thriller from the queen of crime Agatha Christie.

Street Theatre normally perform at Strode Theatre, as part of their 30th celebrations the company is performing an outdoor production as they did in 1996, this time in the grounds of the Shoemakers Museum with this Agatha Christie classic directed by Paul Townsend.

Bring your deckchairs and picnic blankets for an evening of outdoor theatre. The performance is outdoors so please come prepared for the British weather with a warm jumper and waterproof just in case.

You are welcome to bring your own refreshments or enjoy something from Shoemakers Museum’s pop-up cafe which will be serving tea, coffee, as well as a selection of locally sourced wines and beers. You can even book a picnic box to collect on the night! – Treat yourself to a perfect evening with a picnic for two and enjoy mixed vegetable quiche, sausage roll, trio of salads, crisps, chocolate brownie, and sparkling soft drinks of your choice. Vegan and gluten free options available, and most dietary requirements can be accommodated. Please book your picnic in advance!

Tickets cost £13.50 – £17. With discounts for early bird purchases and for Shoemakers Museum annual pass holders
