Boundless Trust - Youth and Children’s Lead Worker
Responsible to: Chair of Trustees.
Hours: 7.4 hours/week
Contract: Fixed term initially to March 2027 - continuation will be dependent on further funding.
Start date: April 2026.
Salary: £28624 Pro Rata £5274.80 per annum.
Job location: Based at The Haven covering Looe and surrounding villages.
Boundless Trust currently run a weekly youth and children’s group and holiday club provision in Looe. We are seeking to develop and grow the existing provision.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable individual who is passionate about providing great opportunities for children and young people in Looe and the surrounding area.
The post is initially until March 2027 with a possibility of extension linked to successful funding.
You will work collaboratively and be supported by the other services delivered by Boundless Trust including the Welcome Space, Looe Community Meals, Food Bank and Hardship Fund.
Duties will include:
· To plan and deliver youth and children’s activities To support the volunteers and organise the rota.
· To utilise therapeutic skills and interventions when working with children and young people in emotional distress and crisis.
· Work with identified Children through use of individual/group support strategies to improve behaviour management skills, increasing their self-esteem, confidence, coping strategies to deal with difficult emotions, achievement and attendance at school.
Work Collaboratively with other agencies.
Suitable candidates will have the following skills/ experience:
Essential:
· Assessment of needs and risk assessment.
· Experience of working with youth and children. (minimum 2 years' experience).
· Excellent communication skills including numeracy and literacy skills
· Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel, Outlook and data inputting of client details and statistics.
· A minimum of a level 3 in youth work/childcare/ health & social care or an equivalent qualification or experience.
Desirable:
· Experience of working in a supportive environment with children and young people where there are mental health issues.
· Understanding of the impact of mental health needs on children and young people.
· The ideal person will have access to their own vehicle with business insurance due to the nature of the role.
· Experience in teaching life-skills.
