TCV Hollybush

TCV Hollybush Hollybush in Kirkstall is an environmental volunteering centre that has been running for over 45 years. We welcome people of all backgrounds and experience.

Our volunteers help to manage green spaces across Leeds and beyond. Hollybush is a busy environmental conservation centre in West Leeds offering volunteering opportunities and courses in practical conservation, gardening, woodwork and crafts. It is also home to The Hollybush Project which runs nature-based activities for adult with learning difficulties, and the Hollybush Community Cafe which is o

pen to the public. As part of the charity The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) Hollybush connect people and green spaces to deliver lasting outcomes for both. We welcome people from all backgrounds, with all levels of experience.

The Wildlife Walkers managed to dodge the showers on Monday on their walk around Roundhay Park.
Walking by Waterloo and the Upper lakes, through the trees and across the road to the Canal and Friends of Roundhay Park gardens we saw a juvenile cormorant, common blue damsel flies, bumble bees, moth caterpillars amongst other things.

The Wildlife Walk was at Golden Acre Park yesterday. We walked along Lilac Lane, a national collection of lilacs. It smelt lovely! Down at the lake we were delighted to see cygnets and mandarin ducklings.

June is always a fun month for us as we get invited to lots of community events, and get out and about meeting people 👋

Next week we'll be celebrating Age Without Limits Day at Leeds City Museum (10th June, 11am-2pm), organised by Leeds Older People's Forum

The following week we'll be in Kirkgate Market for Being Social, an information event for people with a learning disability (18th June, 11am-2pm) organised by Through the Maze
