At Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire, our Home Support Service helps older people remain independent, connected, and comfortable in their own homes. We're looking for compassionate individuals to join our team and make a real difference in their local community.

We’re proud to see the impact of our partnership with Wellesbourne & Walton Community Cares (WWCC) in action 💙

This year’s Holiday at Home brought older residents together for three fantastic days of activities, laughter and companionship – all designed to reduce loneliness and create meaningful connections.

Alongside this, we’re continuing to support much‑loved events like the OSCARS Tea Parties throughout the year, helping keep communities connected.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making these events so special!

Loneliness doesn’t just affect older people—it can affect anyone, at any stage of life.

During Loneliness Awareness Week, we’re shining a light on something simple that makes a real difference: connection.

Our befriending volunteers often say they joined to help someone else—but ended up gaining something too: friendship, routine, confidence, and a reason to get out of the house.

If you’ve got an hour or two to spare, volunteering as a befriender could change someone’s week… and quite possibly yours as well.

💙 Carers Week 2026 💙

Earlier this week, we were proud to attend the Carers Trust Heart of England event at the Coventry Building Society Arena, celebrating and supporting unpaid carers across our community.

It was a fantastic and successful event, giving us the opportunity to speak with many carers, families, and professionals throughout the afternoon. We had some great conversations, shared information about the support available, and connected with a wide range of local organisations and services.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us, as well as to Carers Trust Heart of England for hosting such a valuable event. Together, we can continue raising awareness and ensuring unpaid carers receive the recognition and support they deserve.

💙 Who Supports the Carer?

Caring for someone can be emotionally demanding.

Many carers experience stress, anxiety, loneliness or feelings of overwhelm, but often put their own wellbeing last.

Our Counselling Service offers a confidential space to talk about your experiences, challenges and emotions with a trained professional. Sessions are available by phone, online and, in some cases, face-to-face.

Because your wellbeing matters too.

Our free, confidential Benefits Advice service can help you check whether you may be eligible for:
✔ Carer's Allowance
✔ Pension Credit
✔ Universal Credit
✔ Attendance Allowance
✔ Council Tax Reductions
✔ Other grants and support schemes

Our advisers can also help with applications.

One local carer who contacted us for a benefit check was helped to access additional benefits and support worth around £7,000 per year, alongside practical advice that made caring easier.

Caring for someone can be rewarding, but everyone needs time for themselves.
Our Home Support service can offer short breaks for carers to allow you to take time out to attend appointments, meet friends, run errands or simply recharge.

A trained support worker can stay with the person you care for in their own home, providing reassurance and companionship while you take a well-deserved break.
Taking care of yourself isn't selfish—it's an important part of being able to continue caring for others.
