Lancaster University Society of History The Lancaster University Society of History (LUSH) is for any students who have a passion for history. Ultimately, we aim to strike a balance between having fun nights outs and trips that will deepen our love of this fantastic subject.

Ultimately, we aim to strike a balance between having fun socials and academic events that will deepen our love of this fantastic subject. The Society of History is open to any students interested in history, whether or not you’re taking the subject; in fact many of our members either took History as a Minor in First Year and wished to continue to fuel their interest, or never even took History!

We run a different social every week, socials include:
--> Day trips to various historical locations (such as the likes of Edinburgh and Manchester)
--> Guest lectures on a huge range of historical topics
--> An annual tour of Lancaster Castle
--> Pub crawls (we get around quite a lot of pubs…)
--> Quiz Nights
--> Historical Socials (Horrible Histories Karaoke, Toga Night, etc.)

We also take an active role in encouraging our members in terms of careers, revision, essay advice and general study, especially in the Summer Term when we hold regular Revision Sessions. Membership for the year is ÂŁ5, which includes free entry into all lectures and socials throughout the year. If you have any queries or comments, please get in touch with us!
