Back on Track in Lambourn
The 100 meter and 400 meter running tracks on the old cricket field in Lambourn have now been reinstated for community use. The tracks were marked out by Chris and Steve from the Lambourn Valley Running Club, together with Christian from The Lambourn Junction. The running club forms part of the Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company and will use the tracks regularly, especially with younger runners. Originally created by the Lambourn Youth Council last year, it is fantastic to see their legacy continuing to benefit the village and encourage local people of all ages to stay active.

We’re delighted to have received a £2,500 grant from the Berkshire Community Foundation to help keep the Lambourn Lunch Club running.
Each week around 25 people enjoy a hot meal, great company and a game of bingo, with takeaway lunches for those who are housebound. When asked if the club supports their mental health, every single vote said yes.
A huge thank you to Berkshire Community Foundation for their support.

Lambourn Valley History Trail Pilot Launched

The Lambourn Valley is full of history, but much of it goes untold. A new pilot from the Lambourn Junction is changing that.
Simple QR code plaques have been placed at key sites including St Michael and All Angels Church, the Lambourn Market Cross, and the Lambourn Almshouses. Just scan and listen to a short audio guide, like having a local guide beside you.
If successful, the trail will expand across the valley with more locations and permanent signs.
We would love your feedback and ideas for future stops. More details and links to the pilot recordings here: https://lambourn.org/lambourn-history-trail-pilot-launched/

Members of the Lambourn Shed have been hard at work preparing the next set of white gates designed to slow traffic as it enters the village. Following the successful installation of gates on the Wantage and Eastbury roads, attention has now turned to the approach from Upper Lambourn.
If you would like to meet like minded people and get involved, simply email Adrian at [email protected] - no joining fee, no membership just fun.

We pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Spence as the new Community Organiser for Lambourn. This important new role has been made possible thanks to the kind funding support of SNG.
The Community Organiser role follows a national model and has been created to help strengthen links within the community.
