⚠️ Equine influenza cases are currently on the rise across the UK.
With many horses travelling to competitions, camps and events over the summer, now is a good time to review your biosecurity measures and ensure your horse's vaccinations are up to date.
Key things to remember:
✅ Check your horse's vaccination status
✅ Take and record temperatures daily
✅ Watch for symptoms such as a cough, nasal discharge or a temperature above 38.5°C
✅ Isolate new arrivals for at least 14 days
✅ Follow good hygiene practices around the yard
Equine influenza spreads easily and can be carried on clothing, hands and equipment, so vigilance is important.
We've produced a free poster that you can download and display at your yard to help raise awareness and reduce the risk of spread.
