𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭. 🏍️

The Long Road to Hope begins.
340km. Two ferries. Three countries. One day.

After a charity event, I ride south to Cairnryan on the Ayrshire coast.
Cross to Belfast.
Ride through Northern Ireland to Dublin.
Board the overnight ferry to Cherbourg, France.

By the time my head hits a pillow, Scotland will be behind me
and France will be waiting on the other side of the Irish Sea.

That's the thing about a big journey - it doesn't feel real until you start.
You plan it for months. You look at maps. You imagine the roads.

And then one morning, you just go.

I'm going for every family in Scotland who's sitting in a waiting room right now.
Who's staring at bills they can't pay.
Who's holding it together on the outside while falling apart on the inside.

That's who I'm riding for.
That's what The Long Road to Hope is about.

📍 Day 1
Falkirk → Cairnryan → Belfast → Dublin
Ferry crossing. The adventure begins.

📍 Day 2
Dublin → Cherbourg → Mont Saint-Michel
Overnight ferry. First French road. Iconic first stop.

📍 Day 3
Mont Saint-Michel → Angers
420km. Loire Valley. Vineyards and castles.

📍 Day 4
Angers → Périgueux
Through the Dordogne. Medieval villages. Quiet roads.

📍 Day 5
Périgueux → Luchon
The longest day. 430km. Into the Pyrenees foothills.

📍 Day 6
Luchon → Luz-Saint-Sauveur
Col du Tourmalet. The most iconic mountain pass in motorcycling.

📍 Day 7
Luz-Saint-Sauveur → Sort, Spain
Over the Pyrenees. First night in Spain. 🇪🇸

📍 Day 8
Sort → Barcelona
Past Montserrat Abbey. Into the city.

𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀.

The bills that don't stop. The work that dries up. The family holding everything together while quietly falling apart. The grief that comes with a financial crisis nobody warned you about.

Last year I rode to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice - the team who cared for her. Together we raised over £70,000. I'm proud of every penny. 💜

But grief teaches you things.

The crisis doesn't start at the hospice. It starts at diagnosis. And that's the gap GG on Two Wheels now exists to fill.

GG on Two Wheels is now a registered Scottish charity in its own right - SC054979 - and the Barcelona ride is our first major campaign as an independent charity, raising funds for our own mission:

This summer I'm riding from Scotland to Barcelona - 1,336 miles, 8 days - to shine a light on the Hidden Crisis of cancer and raise £10,000 for our own charity mission: emergency financial aid, mental health support, and dignity for families when life becomes overwhelming.

Every pound goes directly to GG on Two Wheels (SC054979) and the families we exist to serve.

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

Today is National Cancer Survivors Day and I want to say something that I mean with everything I have:

Every person who has heard the words "you have cancer" - and kept going - 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆.
Every person sitting in that waiting room right now.
Every person who finished treatment and is learning who they are on the other side of it.
Every carer who held someone through the hardest nights.
Every family who came through it together. You are seen. You are not alone. And to those of you who lost someone - You are survivors too. Of a different kind. The kind that carries someone with them every single day, in quiet moments, in empty chairs and in songs on the radio. The grief doesn't shrink. You just get stronger around it.

Gaynor didn't survive her cancer. But her love, her spirit and her name live in every mile I ride. That's the truth of it.

Today, I want this page to be a space for remembrance and for celebration.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗜'𝗺 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.

There's something about the Isle of Man TT that gets under your skin.

Over 250,000 people descend on a tiny island every year to watch riders push themselves - and their machines - to the absolute limit. It's raw. It's visceral. It's the kind of place that makes you feel properly alive.

I came here as a rider. But I stay for something else entirely. Every corner of this island carries stories. Riders who chased something no one else could quite explain. Families in the crowd who lost someone - and came back anyway, because being here keeps them close.

That's why GG on Two Wheels is here this week.

Because grief doesn't stop you riding. Sometimes, riding is the only thing that makes grief make sense.

I'll be sharing the week with you as it unfolds - the bikes, the noise, the people, and the quiet moments in between. Gaynor loved that I loved this. So here I am. Still going. Still riding.
