𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆. 🧡

GG on Two Wheels is now working in partnership with Maggie's Forth Valley.

From now on, when Maggie's meet a family who needs the kind of practical support we exist to give - the support that falls outside what any other service can cover - they’ll refer them straight to us.

This matters because it's exactly why I got on a bike in the first place. Every mile I've ridden has been about closing the gap between what a family needs when cancer turns their world upside down, and what's there for them. Maggie's have spent 30 years being that support for people across Scotland. Now we get to stand alongside them.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲. 🧡

Ann Marie spent 23 years in radio, the last 7 of those running Central FM. These days she's supposed to be (semi) retired. She's not - she helps us one day a week, chasing down trust funding and corporate sponsorship, and honestly, GG is better for it.

Here's the bit that matters most though. Ann Marie was Gaynor's friend. She supported Gaynor through her own cancer journey, and when Gaynor was facing her terminal diagnosis, she asked Ann Marie to help me raise money for Strathcarron Hospice - the place that looked after her. Ann Marie said yes. She's been with us ever since.

She's also been through cancer herself. She's in remission now, still on medication to keep it that way - which means she knows exactly what the families we support are facing. That's not something she has to imagine.

Outside of GG, her real job is being Nana to four grandchildren.

As she puts it: "𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 - 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚."

She's a BMW C1 Williams F1 Team Edition - one of only 400 ever built, wearing genuine Williams F1 paddock livery. She's had a career most bikes only dream of, and now she's sitting here with a removable wrap over that original paintwork, waiting on her next owner.
