During January the club helped facilitate two very successful cookery demonstrations for two groups of St Margaret's R.C. Primary School pupils totalling 25 in all . This was made possible from the excellent support given by the team down at the Thirty Knots restaurant. Their Sous Chef Dylan delivered two interactive sessions for the children showing them how to prepare a chicken from scratch and how to cut up and prepare a range of vegetables. The children were given a chance by Dylan under his careful supervision to try their hand at vegetable preparation. Dylan also covered a range of food hygiene requirements in depth, a critical requirement in any kitchen .....including our own!

The restaurant allowed the children to make their own chicken wraps to eat and enjoy and the second group tucked into a lovely chicken curry that they had been shown how to prepare .

The youngsters posed a wide range of great questions to Dylan who knows we may well have the next budding Gordon Ramsay or Nigella Lawson in our ranks.

We are most grateful to the Thirty Knots team for all their support and hard work to make this happen and our club are looking for other ways to engage with local businesses in the hope they too can provide this type of external learning experience for our local youngsters.
