Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at the Gallatown Hub this evening.

Some highlights celebrating an incredible year of community impact were:
•Annual Report: CEO Fiona Sword presented this year's inspiring achievements and milestones.
•Special Thanks: Chair Liz Easton shared heartfelt gratitude with our staff, volunteers, trustees, young people, and community members.
•Financial Update: The annual financial statement was successfully presented.
•Bob Kilgour Award: The prestigious Bob Kilgour Outstanding Achievement Award was presented to the amazing Birds on Bikes by our Honorary President Robert Main.

It was wonderful to see so many partners, funders, and local people filling the room this evening. 🙏
Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and works tirelessly to make Kirkcaldy YMCA such a valued local organisation delivering services to young people and to community members.🌟

Mentoring makes a difference!

Angus is a KDY local and this is his story…

💛 Volunteers’ Week: Angus’ story

Angus is a busy dad, a civil engineer, and someone who’s always made time to give back. When his daughters started becoming more independent, he decided to use his spare time to support a young person as a mentor with Intandem and Ymca Kirkcaldy.

Since then, his mentoring journey has been filled with simple but meaningful moments — kickabouts, outdoor activities, and chats over burgers where young people feel comfortable enough to open up.

He says mentoring is about showing up, listening, and helping young people feel like they matter.

And the best part? He’s enjoyed it even more than he expected — often looking forward to each catch-up just as much as the young person does.

👏 As Volunteers’ Week comes to an end, we’re celebrating people like Angus who are making a real difference in their communities.
