Auld Kirk Players

Auld Kirk Players The Auld Kirk Players, Kirkcaldy's only amateur dramatic group.

Open to all who are interested in Theatre. 69 years (and counting) of entertaining Kirkcaldy audiences. The Auld Kirk Players is Kirkcaldy’s oldest Amateur Theatre group (Fife’s second oldest) Performing since 1957. The group prides itself on being a community group, so our door (stage?) is always open to newcomers. Our motto “Histriones in Scaenam” means “Beginners on stage” It is the famous call

to inform actors that the play is about to start, but we take it as also supporting people in the town to get involved in theatre - We are always looking for back-stage assistants as well! We perform self-written plays as well as scripts by well-known playwrights, we also support the other groups in the area such as the Kirkcaldy Civic Society. For a small group we continue to add to Kirkcaldy’s cultural history, helping to ensure that the theatre expiernece is available to all the community.
