Kirkcaldy has officially entered the competition to become the UK Town of Culture 2028!

In celebration, the Lang Toun Partners have submitted a digital postcard to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport :

Greetings from Kirkcaldy!

Look one way and you’ll see the waters of the Forth. Look another and you’ll find parks, galleries, theatres and communities full of creativity and ideas.

"The town that floored the world" has always been a place of thinkers and makers. From world-changing ideas and industry to community festivals, gardens and creative projects, people here don’t wait for change – they help create it.

As we celebrate 900 years of Kirkcaldy, we’re proud of our heritage, excited about our future and inspired by the people who make this town what it is. Kirkcaldy is... creativity, community and possibility.

It can be hard to make friends as adults, can’t it? The Songburds encourages connections & friendships through lengthy tea breaks, social outings, book swaps, theatre visits, meals…..we sometimes even fit in some singing!

Mental Health Awareness Week Day 2

This years theme is “Action”, focusing on taking practical, tangible steps to support mental health for oneself, others, and society.

Our Songburds likely joined the choir because they wanted to sing - the mental health benefits have been a bonus!
