Assalamu Alaikum

By the grace of Allah, we will be holding Khatm-ul-Qur’an on Sunday, 15th March, on the blessed 27th night of Ramadan - night widely regarded holy night of last 10 days of Ramdhan.

Allah says in the Qur’an:
"Laylatul Qadr is better than a thousand months." (Qur’an 97:3)
And the Prophet ď·ş said:
"Whoever stands in prayer on Laylatul Qadr out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven." (Bukhari & Muslim)

On this blessed and Mubarak night, when the Qur’an was first revealed, we will complete the recitation of the Qur’an and gather for dua, reflection, and prayers, seeking Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and blessings for ourselves, our families, and the entire Ummah.

We warmly invite all brothers, sisters, and families to join us in this spiritually uplifting gathering and share the blessings of this special night together.

May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and recitation of the Qur’an. Ameen.

A big thank you to Kit from Greener Kirkcaldy and volunteer Abi for visiting us today and sharing fruit trees with our community.

They’re working with Climate Action Fife on a brilliant campaign encouraging every household in Fife to plant a fruit tree in their garden. They also took the time to show us how to plant and care for them, kindly donated a couple to the mosque, and even helped prune some of our existing trees.

A lovely mix of learning, community spirit, and climate action.

LAUNCH OF SOCIAL ENTERPRISE AT KIRKCALDY CENTRAL MOSQUE

Alhamdulillah, through the help of many generous brothers and sisters, a great community initiative has been launched and headed by brother Ishfaq Muhammad.

The aim of the social enterprise is to raise money for various community projects by selling goods that have been donated by generous individuals.

Alhamdulillah, over ÂŁ20,000 worth of stock has been ordered and delivered including items such as dates, honey, snacks and drinks.

The social enterprise is now open, and we recommend brothers and sisters to buy their dates from us because all profits will be used to help the masjid and wider community projects.

You can have a look tonight after the event inshallah.

We look forward to this enterprise flourishing with your help. This project can turn into something very special and a financial backbone for the masjid, so come down and show your support and give ideas about what stock we could order in the future.

We are working with Climate Action Fife through their campaign A Fruit Tree for Every Garden in Fife.

Climate Action Fife want to help people in Fife plant fruit trees in their garden. They will bring 30 fruit trees to share with our community at the garden at Fife Islamic Centre at 1:30pm on Friday 13th February.

All of the trees are varieties of fruit that are suited to Fife’s climate. They are available for free, first come, first serve. Most of the trees are in large pots. You will also receive a stake and a tie to help support your tree. They will share information about how to plant and care for your tree too.

Donations are welcome to help support tree planting projects in Fife.

Thank you to all those who attended our session today about Managing emotions and feelings.

After some snacks, we read a story titled “My Monster and Me” and the children discussed how the monster symbolised different feelings such as anxiety, worry, sadness, anger and fear. The children learned about different ways the Prophet (SAW) advised us to deal with difficult emotions such as: changing our position, doing dhikr, reading Au dhu bhillahi, doing wudhu and staying silent.

We played a fun game to practise these habits and the children completed a worksheet on how they can calm themselves. Some of them even drew out their “feelings monsters”. Mashalah it was great to see our little ones engaged with their emotional wellbeing.
